For a large number of reasons.

    1. They're too cheap. You should stay away from such cheap hosts unless they are reputable like hostgator.

    2. They're too cheap for the specs they offer. They're probably overselling their resources, resulting in your website being slow, and going down multiple times.

    3. They're too cheap in terms of presentation. A decent host, hell, even an indecent host has at least a decent front-end design.

    4. They probably have terrible support.

When it comes to hosting, you really can judge a book by it's cover. But, if you wanna go ahead and give it a try, be sure to let us know how it went ;)

I am using them just because of their price, and even though I have like no experience I think that they do fine.

They do fine, but not great...

If your site is often down and/or slow, then it's no good.

forciumhosting.com sucks. I got a small plan there so I only lost 6 bucks but they have been down more than they are up.

    Would not recommend.

I do recommend a host like hostgator.com or hostdime.com or surpasshosting.com (surpass is housed inside hostdime but they work in the datacenter all the same) as they actually own a datacenter and have much better support and uptime.

    Hey Guys,

I have some updates on what happened with forcium host (as I am the new customer relations director, as well as the support director.) Four days ago (before I was brought on board) Forcium Host noticed that their main server was having a major slow down. They raised a ticket with their x-server management company, Platinum Server Managment, and then they waited, praying that PSM would respond quickly. Day 1 went by, no response. Day 2 goes by, no response. Day 3 hits, and I am contacted, and my services requested. I begin working on their server, and the first thing I notice is that everything looks fine, but that apache is very slow. I contacted one of the in house technicians at the datacenter through the owner, and we realized two things.

    1. That apache was overloading.
    2. The server was under a denial of service attack.

We raised the number of requests that apache could process per second, as well as decreased the timeouts to 0.00001 seconds. We installed software firewalls, as well as activated a new hardware based firewall. All of the above changes restored service to our customers, and we are now working on finding the network that attacked us so we can file a complaint.

What are we doing differently that will ensure our customers receive the best uptime possible.

    1. We are decreasing the amount of overselling we are doing.

Some overselling is not a bad thing, it increases the profits that we make on our servers, but we are not interested in cutting quality for profits. We will be making our plans more reasonable, BUT all previous clients will be able to use the plans that they bought.

    2. Increasing our firewall protection and adding more intrusion detection

We have added a new software and hardware firewall to our servers, and we are looking at ways of installing an intrusion detection system. This will let us know when our clients are under attack so that we can actively block the attackers.

    3. Hiring internal support specialist(s)

We are working on hiring an internal support specialist who will handle all level 3 support issues (if you are good at this kind of work PM me :)).

    Thank you,
    Erik Van Norstrand
    Customer Service Director
