    No, they do own them but they use a third party service to disguise the fact. Obviously they wouldent want to be associated with googleporn.com but neither do they want anyone else to own it.

    a lot of the deal with owning a lot of domains is not to use them all, but just to stop others from using them. Or to cope with mistakes in the user entering a url - such as gogle.com
