    Hello,

I am looking at getting a dedicated server, but I need to know who is the best? I will be running up to 20 websites on the server including search engines etc. So needs to be good quality and reliable.

So which is the best company to buy them from?

And what is the cheapest price? I have just got a quote of $130

    Thanks

    Jonathan

Bandwidth would need to be unlimited, the websites will have alot of traffic.

What companies are the best for dedicated servers?

you would have to tell the requirements

    HDD
    RAM

or you just need the company decide what would suit you best?

I would suggest softlayer any day. Professional service and support and setup/pre billing support is great, I had my server setup after 3 hours of payment.

I highly recommend the user Ishan right here from DP. Great pricing, great support and even msn support. I rent numerous servers off him and it's not to be scoffed at.
I pay ALOT less than everywhere else too~

I use server beach for my hosting. I have 3 servers with them. Prices are pretty good as are the servers. You can get a dedicated server there for around 75 a month and up.

SoftLayer as my vote also. But, what I like to do is purchase a server from a softlayer reseller. What you get is softlayer quality plus extras, like managed and monitoring, plus resellers have sometime the ability to chip in xtra ram or second hd.

http://www.beachcomber.net is a very good softlayer reseller.

Any links to himself or his website?

Also I am thinking about using a softlayer reseller, is the one mentioned above the best?

SL isn't considered cheap. The servers start at around 150USD, and the upgrade cost quite a lot. Why don't you tell us what needs you have in terms of hardware, OS, control panel?

If you got a quote for 130$ for that, then it's too good to be true; besides the hardware requirements, getting 100mbps dedicated unmetered is going to cost at least 1000$ per month. Getting shared 100mbps is a totally different thing though...

There is no 'best' company. It's up to opinion, but for those specs you will have to check FDCServers.net :)

The problem is I don't think the quote for $130 is genuine!

I need those specs, or close to it, and I guess prices could vary a bit

Well supposedly unlimited bandwidth, and close to the specs I require?!

They say it is enough to run my network on, but I have doubts
