I am not pro immigration, nor am I 100% pro business running things ;)
I do believe in government, just on a limited scale.

Legal immigration is one thing, I have no problem with a regulated immigration policy that makes sense, I however am against illegal immigration. The argument that government regulation is used to curb illegal immigration however can easily be trumped by the fact that illegal immigration IMO creates more government, more government agencies, more government debt, more taxes, much more than simply saying in order to come into this country you need to do A, B and C. If you don't do A, B and C you are kicked out.

    ---
BTW I strongly and firmly believe non US citizens are not entitled to any Constitutional protections, in other words the government in such an instance in my mind is free to stop them anyways necessary. I do not see this as government interference but as the government doing one of the things it's meant to do..

I agree, although the drag of it is that voter apathy also tends to be an indicator of the health of a democracy (see Tocqueville - I think he was on the right track). After Watergate, for instance, voter participation took a serious nose dive.

    Interesting read:

    I fully agree with you.

And the article was interesting as well. I believe that, for a true democracy to work, we all need to participate and be intrigued about our government and how it works.

I will admit that most people who do not vote do so out because they could care less about the country as a whole. Quite sad really, and I wish people would vote, voice their opinion about our leaders, even if it's not voting at all because of the choices.....

Because those that do not vote are generally the biggest complainers. To that end, I do not think they have a "right" to anything, much less a complaint, if they do not at least exercise their right to vote. Those that vote out of spite are the worst IMO... Nothing like someone voting for a candidate simply because they do not like someone else, or wasting their vote on someone who has no chance of being elected.

Its kinda like that senator that claims patriotism, meanwhile refuses to where the American flag on their lapel. Its just plain wrong, right or not.

Another example of crystal clarity. I don't wear a flag pin. Guess I'm a traitor. An Obama presidency is going to rock your world along so many other issues, much bigger obsessions to have than a dime-sized pin.

    I especially like:

    Yes, no it aren'tis.

    Try this on for size...

To me, and I don't think anyone has even explored this. The ultimate dream ticket is McCain/Clinton.

    Talk about taking it all.

Yeah, not in a few years at least.

McCain was everyone's "dream" running mate.
