    At the bottom of all Viart websites you see the phrase Free Ecommerce Shopping Cart Software by ViArt in the footer and it is linked to Viart.com.

    On the Viart website it said it can be removed by activating on the Viart website. I am looking for a way to remove it without activation. Anyone know of a way to do it manually?

    You have to buy a license to do this, any other way would be illegal and it would break your TOS with ViArt.

    Taken from the FAQ - http://www.viart.com/faq_all

    How to get rid of the link: Free Ecommerce Shopping Cart Software by ViArt?
    In order to get rid of the of the link: 'Free Ecommerce Shopping Cart Software by ViArt' you have to buy a license (for ViArt Light, Standard or Enterprise) and activate it at http://www.viart.com/activation (for more information about the activation procedure please see section 3.3.
    Viart Shop activation of ViArt Shop manual.

    How to remove the link 'Powered by ViArt'?
    In order to remove the link 'Powered by ViArt', you are to delete the appropriate link from 'footer.html' file in the .templates/user folder:
    <div class="footerImg"><a title="ViArt - PHP Shopping Cart" href="http://www.viart.com"><img alt="ViArt - PHP Shopping Cart" src="images/tr.gif"></a></div>
    </div>

    </center>
    Save the file and the link 'powered by viart' will be removed from your site.

    Hope that helps.

    I explained in my post that I already knew that it could be done through activation.

    I am asking how to find and delete the code manually.

    I know you did and I was just telling you that would be illegal as you need to purchase a license.

    Asking someone one here to help you break a license agreement isn't going to get you very far!

    Illegal, or unlawful, is used to describe something that is prohibited or not authorized by law or, more generally, by rules specific to a particular situation (such as a game).

    I fully understand the word.
