Poll attached. I love tier commissions. Obviously not 20 tier pyramids but if it's 1 tier where you get paid something every time someone you refer sends an a sale. I like the idea but others say it's pyramidesque and obviously you'd save more if you didn't include the tier. That being said I don't want to loose good affiliates because they think it's a pyramid. Do tier programs turn you on or off?
Total turn off - I think most experienced aff's or SA's look down upon any saturation and would never recruit competition to themselves, I wouldn't anyway. Not to mention that the few I tried had wonky experiences with and wouldn't touch tiered systems again. As a vendor it gets messy too, even 1 tier.. .. .... If a whole team is out there recruiting competition for themselves and the more experienced folks won't touch it - you'll end up with tons of newbs recruiting tons of newbs and nobody will focus on selling the top tier. <<Worst case scenario. Just my .02. **Rep added for good discussion topic - I'd love to see both sides of this story. NC.
I think one and two tier can really prove well... I make some really cool kickups from MarketHealth like this.... and also it gives me great incentive and happiness when I see my signups making good sales and doing well... I agree that more than 2 tiers is a bit much.. but 2 tier is great for sideline commiss.. Will be good ot see others thoughts and maybe some other good 2 tier networks Jay
I think this is such wrong thinking... a good affiliate knows that plenty of competition means hot market.. and if you can have those people on your second level..then all the better.. It's wrong to think most would steer clear of two tier programs... I certainly look at them with interest if I find a worthwhile one.. Like I did when I found MarketHealth.. Just my .02... great topic..I too like to see both sides and appreciate all people's opinions.. and will be adding rep too for cool discussion Rock on guys Jay
Decided to make it 1 tier. I'm going to add higher flat rate for super affiliates when they identify themselves. Thanks for the sound advice.
**Perhaps I came on strong and just thought black/white/final answer if Ihad to choose ONE. Of course it makes sense if you are the type of marketer that is in a position to easily recruit and not have it interrupt with your main pool of earnings. I guess it also depends on how big the market is for a said offer. If the market is huge and we'd never run out of leads/prospects/keywords/etc., then yes, a second tier makes sense. The odd time (actually right now - oddly), I promote others launches and shoot over a bunch of my affiliates to their vip jv page, and get a nice cut off the top tier for it - however as stated above - those are only when a good match up of vendor+SA occur. If I had to choose just one or the other as an AFF: 1-tier In a perfect world as a Vendor: 1-tier with select approved SA's on the next. Good move OP. N.
I love 2 tiers. One of my highest paying affiliate programs happens to be a 2nd tier affiliate program (1/3 is 2nd tier earnings 2/3 is customer sales).
I removed it for 2 MAJOR reasons. 1) A good portion of people instantly get turned off when they hear tier. I asked numerous people and a large percentage felt that way. 2) When you can get paid residually it is tempting for affiliates to start spamming in the name of passive income. Spam is something I most definitely do NOT want associated with the program. his way I may get less affiliates but serious ones. Thinking of level payout where once they send 25 sales or something it goes up to $25 a sale.
Well I think you are wrong because Ive been an affiliate for a site for a year like I said and I promote it heavier than any other site and one reason is because of the 2 tiers. I been with them for a year and they been around longer than that, and no problems.
