www.maal-e-muft.com This is a simple site for listening and downloading music. It just has a search bar, where you have to search with the keywords of the song/album name/singer etc, that you are looking for, and it gives you relevant links for listening, and downloading it. It is connected to esnips, n I duno much abt how it works either I just started promoting it 3 months back, and then, I didn’t even knew 'S' of SEO, not that I am any better now .. but still.. my site can be seen on the first page of google with any of the the following keywords : muft music ( where it competes with 72,700 similar matches) maal muft/ muft maal (where there is not much competition) maal-e-muft/ maal e muft, which is the name of the site ( again, there is not much competition) Muft is a hindi word, that means 'free' I just used this site for experimenting, and all the promotions i did were individualistic, and I didn’t spent a penny for it. Still, there is nothing much to boast about the stats , as i just gets like 1000 or so unique hits per month, with about 10 k page views. Funny thing is that I often see ppl here selling e-books on how to get your site on front page of google, they obviously mean it for a particular keyword, but now that I already got it there .. i hardly get any traffic from google, hehe, like 15-20 ppl per months from it Good thing is that i got traffic from all over the world, and though there is not much to boast abt the site, i am still happy with the way its going, and i hope that traffic will further improve with time BTW, a quest, can anyone tell me what would u like to call 'content' @ this site ? As i see it its just a one page site, which gives further results depending on the keywords ppl use on it, so what’s the 'content' thingy here.. Looks funny, i am no 1 on google for my niche, n it seems my site got no content hehe ! Expert analysis/comments is awaited Anyways, if u read this full, then thanks for reading , hehe !
i know that.. as i stated already, its only competing with abt 70 k similer matches with that keyword in hindi, there is a popular idiom, which includes the name of the site ( maa-e-muft, dil-e-bereham) , some indians might have used it and landed up on my site.. though that idiom has nothing to do with music as such
Do your visitors mostly come from India... as probably only Indians would use 'muft' for keyword... But still, congratulations...

Where do you get the traffic from? Other search engines except Google? Link exchange? Would be nice if you shared it with us here....
I haven’t promoted it in a big way, and it doesn’t get a big traffic anyways .. as i said just about 1 k unique hits per month.. which is no big deal... I promoted the site in my own limited ways in some social networking sites; I did that for abt a month, i guess some ppl liked it n passed the link to others n it got some kinda word of mouth , n now i still get the same traffic although i haven’t done anything @ promotion for abt 2 months now .. quite surprisingly, ppl r coming from google.. i got no idea how does that happen.. cause i dont think the site as any 'content' as such, so i duno how come it gets recognition - even it is for a non competent word like 'muft music' but the quest is 'how come' ..

unfortunately you are asking "hey, tell me how google algorithm work ? and why they give me little space in their world" just like that one little ant asking to god why he still existence in this world. Your question maybe good if you was in no1 position for "download music" with only one page + without any content!! so far, its nothing big issue!!! you wrote very well though.. why don't you use your skill to create a good one website

congrats mate , but try to get your site for keyword music or some thing related music that have good traffic be cause on this keyword you will not get good traffic at your site.
