Why is this site so large?

Really i have ran across a couple great boards like this and they aren't even close to getting the traffic this site generates

Whats sets DP to the side?

 

Im here for the buy/sell section and it has a lot of people all the time so if something needed just post it here and you will have it

With some of the stuff people post here, I'm unsure...

I am not sure what set it aside at first, but now the biggest plus for me is that it's, well, big.

Well, dp has the most number of active users, at least on the forums I have visited.

 

It's large because this is usually the first place newbies hear about and come. There are also a ton of scammers from India who pray on the newbies.

 

I love the buy,sell and trade forum DP have.Lov it.
Because we can make more money and find *good* product there.

Timing, advertising, hella good search engine results.

I think a lot of forums can get this kind of traffic given years of work and advertising. The initial startup is the hard part.

any one who want to make money through internet finds dp

 

I think its because DP is always populated 24/7.

There are always lifeforms (the good, the bad, and the ugly) behind ready to respond to threads/posts at any given time.

 

No one ever really says how it started getting so much traffic. Just stuff like:

"It rocks!"
"Because it's the best!"
"Hard work and good luck!"

I really have no idea, I guess the right timing maybe?

 

Its 10+ years old. I think any site after ten years will have at least some traffic, and DP was one of the first to cover these kinds of topics.

 

No one mentioned one thing the tools of DP. It has some unique webmasters tools which helps it generating lots of traffic. I have seen couple of years back when I was more on sitepoint.com there everyone used to refer to the DP tools and that helped it grow large.
