Hi, Anybody here used escrow.com from Pakistan? I want to send payment using escrow.com but it requires payment in US dollar from my bank account while I have bank account in local currency. I asked them if they accept via western union but they don't accept WU. How can I send them money? Any solution ? Thanks in advance.
Well, try to open a bank account with a US dollar currency, I have one though. Use Bank Alfalah, they are quite fast and good. Your Dollar account will be ready within few hours! (If you have a Pakistani account in Alfalah or any other bank) You can contact foreign exchange officer (of the branch), and ask him to convert and shift desired amount of Pakistani Rupees, in to your dollar account. Easy though? Best of luck!
Thanks HPA for your reply. I just asked from standard chartered bank and they said, yes u can send the money using your local currency account but the convert rate from Rs. to $ will be applied. So I think I still can use escrow from my local bank account.
Yes, you can do that, but the $ rate in banks are a bit lower, whilst, in the market, if you live in Khi or Lhr, you can save quiet a good amount of money. The Dollar conversion rate from a local currency account, in Pakistan, is quiet huge, it can cost you around 3.xx PKR more / 1 dollar. It will not matter if you are sending a minimum payment via Escrow, but if you are sending huge amount, like 1k or greater, it can make a difference!
