you may start your article writing career with the following rates-0.01$ per word.if you lessen your initial prices , you may get lot more job oppurtunities.
forum posting rates are floating and is likely to depend on the budget of the forum's admins.
    thanks,

This thread should have been posted in copywritnig forum, instead posting here. Anyway, my advice is US$ 0.01 is fine for the beginners.

Try to find a site with a content that'll interest you. Contact with the owner of that site and go ahead! There are some offers for article writers on DP forum in the category "content"...

Anything above $0.01 an hour is hard to find. That means if you can write 1000 words in an hour you are making $10/hour. Better off working at maccas...

imthunder: do you mean $0.01 a word?

Lolage, avoid the $0.01/word gigs if you can afford to. It's possible to get paid more than that as a beginner. I certainly made more than that when I started ($0.02/word) and steadily built my way up.

    take care and good luck...

Sorry, I did mean $0.01 a word. And it is possible to get $0.02 a word and more if you are a decent writer. Although I have found I spend 50% of my time looking for $0.02+ jobs anyway so it isn't worth it. If you are committed though, you can get higher...

It's easy to make more than $0.01 or $0.02 a word. All you have to be is... well... good. And most online writers aren't. Perfect your craft, market yourself well, and you'll get there.
