contribute a little more. you've made 2 posts! add some info to your sig-link about what you're offering to do. they'll trickle in.
For some good solid advice about making it as a writer try: http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/ The place is a mine of information about all genres of writing. There are not many jobs advertised, but plenty of tips about where to look.
http://www.thegaryhalbertletter.com/newsletter-archives.htm Read the whole lot of them and you will have an answer to your question
I don't know what type of writing you want to do -- journalism, copywriting, sales letters. There could be a way to do some type of volunteer writing (there is a big difference between writing for a not-for-profit and writing for some schmo for FREE). That would at least give you a writing sample and a reference, a place to get started. Good luck!
I forgot to say.....try to look for writing gigs in things that really interest you. So if sports are a real favorite of yours, look for copywriting or magazines that relate to sports. Your knowledge will help you be a better writer for that project. Abby
Thanks everyone... Thanks a Ton... and tons after that! All of your suggestions were insightful and interesting. Regards Rome
You can find work here on DP but because you're new you have to offer something really cheap and then increase your prices.
Thanks Affiliatemark.... Ya - I know. I am ready to work for any amount at this moment, all I need is some work. Lets see... better keep my fingers crossed.
Try writing some long (300 words) blog entries about popular topics like technology and then sell them in the content section of DP. It'll start you off on the write track. Showing a few sentences as samples of your work would help you find a buyer. All the best!
I think that a person need hot his career that is most important. if not earn many money ,you shouldnt worry, because that is you like .
Since you're new to DP, I suggest you open a thread in the content creation section, offering your services as a freelance writer. Make sure you list the topics of your interest. This is a good way to get started here. You need to have a certain number of posts before you can open a thread. All the best!
Thank Crumblepie.... Am so glad with these all overwhelming responses from Dpians... Thank you all.... I should have been here before... Where was I???
Thanks Oosha.... I shall take a note of your words. I hope my foray into this freelance world would be good. Lets see where it takes. Thanks once again... Regards Rome ( www.rome-dec.blogspot.com )
Thanks Seasonying.... You quoted it right.... writing is what I like. Appreciate that. But - I hope my writing can fetch me my daily breads - lest my rent bills. Regards Rome
