Wisdom, I'm talking about her carefully constructed smear campaign, leapt to once it was clear her initial presumption - that this would be a walk in the park - was shown as deeply flawed. She went to the gutter, in my opinion, and stayed there, and for that, I lost respect for her.

Good finally its over. The damn thing took too long.

Instead of a presidential election, Obama and McCain should settle it on a basketball court going one on one. ;)

I saw CNN, it said Obama wins, but there is a sentence CNN projects, does that mean he truly win or is it a projection by CNN? Any official confirmation?

I'm seeing that Obama has enough delegates now, the only way Hillary could win is if 207 super-delegates suddenly changed their minds between now and the nominating convention ($$$)

That would be a tough act, given that Hillary had to pump in her own money to keep her campaign going. I think one big reason why Obama wins is also due to his organizing skills, the ability to get the donations rolling in.

I watched both speeches last night. Clinton was graceless in exit as she was during this campaign. Top aides are apparently leaking that the reason she gave short shrift to Obama is to "leverage power" for a VP spot, or her agenda. To hell with her, and with the Clintons generally.

I thought she hasn't given up yet. The last time I read I think she is still doing some maneuvering of some kind among the party elders.

Frankly speaking she may not even want the VP position. It seemed that she is steadfast on the White House.

She didn't even acknowledge last night that Obama has the delegates, which is a reversal of her past position, and the admittance by "top aides," that while she wouldn't formally concede last night, she would be acknowledging in her speech that he has the delegates needed to win the nomination. She merely said "it was an honor to campaign with him....blah, blah, blah." A truly deplorable piece of grandstanding. And, again, as it was apparently leaked this morning, she took this tack in order to broker for a V.P. spot, and/or an ear for her agenda going forward.

Personally, I think all of this "more of the same" out of Clinton will backfire on her; not from her day-to-day supporters, but from the Party. When the race is over, it's over. She has had months to prepare for this eventuality, and she has for months indicated that she would fold once Obama had the count. She pushed for MI and FL to be counted, even though she held the reverse when she was the clear front-runner, and she lost that battle; she lied last night, again, by stating she had the lead in popular votes (in other words, including the MI tally of Clinton, 328,309, Obama, O - because he wasn't on the ballot, for chrissakes); she took the opportunity last night to grandstand, over conceding honorably.

And she has lost, certifiably. The supers will not switch their stated positions now, as this would be suicide, and he has won on the pledged delegates as well. That she continued her what I would call at this point insane posturing is only going to redound to harming her, politically.

Telling is her campaign manager's appearance on the Daily Show - whacked, utterly crazy - literally. His appearance brought a hushed silence in many moments, a rare thing on the show, when many of McAuliffe's statements (e.g., "Hillary is the nominee"), said with a crazed, but serious face, echoed throughout the studio.

Hillary & Co. need to go. Quietly. Now.

There were two articles in the Washington Post today dissecting aspects of the campaign that caught my attention (reference washingtonpost.com)

One dissected how the Obama campaign worked to gain a majority of delegates over time, how it organized, planned, and executed to win this delegate majority.

The second article was about a super delegate who held off supporting a candidate till the very end. This delegate kept a journal over the primary period. Both candidates and their supporters contacted this delegate many times over the period. It too was quite interesting and as with the article above gave a good look at aspects of the campaigns that are generally behind the scenes.

Well this is certainly an interesting question, it is a grueling fight especially towards the end with lots of bad blood. I guess a lot remain to be seen on how they patch up and what Obama has to offer to Clinton to ensure votes from her support base.
