Hi pepperjam, does it mean that some countries which wasn't accepted into ebay cause of not having paypal for example (do they still pay only with that ?) can apply again and be considered ? Last time I tried, I said to ebay that I'll have english site with us traffic, they replied - ok you may join, but after we both discovered I can't be paid by paypal they don't let me in.

I mean case where they were by itself, so EPN, not with CJ already.

    thanks in advance!

SEO Linker - we are handling the payment for eBay affiliates on Pepperjam Network. Therefore, whatever rule you are referencing does not apply.

We accept international affiliates into PJN and offer a host of payment options.

However, once you are a PJN affiliate you'll have to apply for membership into the eBay program.

Cool News from the Pepperjam Tech Team:

Deep Linking has been enabled for eBay on Pepperjam Network.

Now you can create text links and banners to any page you want on eBay.

Our tool is pretty easy to use since it is already built into the PJN interface (no need for eBay's Link Generator).

Here's how to use it. (note that the same deep linking steps apply to creating text links, banners, and advanced links)

Log in to Pepperjam Network - www.pepperjamnetwork.com

    (1) Select Generate Links: Program List
    (2) Select eBay from the advertiser drop down list
    (3) Under Additional Options you'll see "Override Destination URL"

Input the exact page on eBay that you'd like to link to into the "Override Destination URL" section. The page you select can be anything, including a product page, keyword search, category search or whatever. Note that you can also add a unique SID (recommended) at this step as well.

    (4) Click Update.
    (5) Pull your tracking code, banner code, or tracking URL from the list below.

    Any questions?

    Do not hesitate to ask.

Next on deck: (1) Advanced links. (2) BANS or similar niche store builder solution.

If you haven't applied to the eBay program on Pepperjam Network you can do so by clicking my signature.

This is great news! Does anyone know a quick hack to implement these links on BANS? If not, its cool...i can wait for PJN to work with BANS or another solution.

I'd love to know if there is a hack available.

We are working to implement BANS or a BANS-like solution ASAP.

BTW - because of the way our deep linking system works it shouldn't be that difficult for someone with a bit of tech saavy to write a script to work with any of the existing eBay tools.

For instance, here's the basic (encrypted) look of a Pepperjam Network tracking URL with a destination of eBay Motors - http://www.pjatr.com/t/QzxGQEhHPEBERDxFSEFH?url=http://www.motors.ebay.com

To create URL's to specific products, categories, or any page on eBay all the affiliate would need to do is write a script that inserts the tracking URL before the destination URL.

Just a thought, but again we are working to release BANS or a BANS like product soon.

We think our deep linking convention will allow affiliates to get creative.

It's a pretty simple linking structure, I have implemented it on one of my sites for testing. Here's an example of one of our links (unencrypted):

this link has our affiliate code in it do not use this link for your site - for example purposes only

    http://www.pntra.com/t/2-4881-770-6...SAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=280231110239

So basically the tracking portion is http://www.pntra.com/t/2-4881-770-6928?url= which passes PJN your id, ebay's id, and probably a link tracking id. After that just urlencode your destination url on ebay (the http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Febaymotors%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26viewitem%3D%26item%3D280231110239 part).

The easiest way to do this is to copy Kris' method above with a sample link, then replace everything after the url= with whatever url you want to go to on eBay.

KBJ I would probably add an few options to the pjn panel like auction ID, keyword etc so people wouldn't have to copy and paste ebay URLs.

this should be super simple to implement in bans without any major upgrades. just need to get a coder to write a tiny script that rewrites all links to stick ppj's aff link in front and then the ebay item behind..sounds super simple.. time to get onto getafreelancer.com

Heck if thats all it is, I can merge the PJ string with the encoded Ebay URL I get from the API, season to taste and serve.

Nice !!! This would work perfectly to replace the lnks with my custom CJ/eBay API solution......only if my application to the PJN/eBay program weren't stuck in pending status for several days now.

I still haven't switched all of my links from CJ and the "clicks from invalid links" are piling up in my CJ account, so looks like I'm going to have to dump eBay and use some CJ product feeds in the meantime because I can't wait any longer for an approval to send somebody else my traffic.

I have to admit, I am not fond of manual approval program because no matter how good a program manager is, they might incorrectly evaluate a publisher (especially in a relatively new affiliate program such as PJN where many of us are still growing into the system). I know in my case, I do not have any of my CJ/eBay sites listed in my PJN account so the program manager in charge of approvals would probably look at my PJN sites and incorrectly evaluate I'm not using eBay.

Best of luck to anybody else who has already been approved !!

    :(

Bryce - sorry for the delay in reviewing your app.

Please contact me immediately via private message with your username and I'll have our account director push your application through.

We appreciate your concern about manual acceptance.

At the same time, we've been inundated with applications (a good thing) so we are reviewing as quickly as possible.

I can tell you that if you log-in to your PJN account and update it with your eBay Web sites the review process is likely to be much quicker.

Nonetheless - I look forward to your e-mail.

No, If you want my opinion, I think anybody using BANS is a newbie. I've been programming web apps for major corporations (and now myself) since 1993/94 when Perl/CGI was the defacto. I've also coded in Cold Fusion, ASP and as well as C/C++, so I certainly would not resort to a ClickBank product to run my sites.

My solution utilizes the eBay API to pull RSS feeds containing the auction data and displays the results. look here for an example in the baseball genre. I also coded all the RSS/API interface from scratch.

Which is why I stated I can just pull a CJ product feed from MLB.com to show similar results, except with eBay/CJ, more often than not, once you get a visitor to click on an auction, they most likely will end up bidding on something else, which as an affiliate you earn from. Getting a visitor to buy something from MLB.com or Musicians Friend lowers your eCPM but at least you know that CJ is not going to louse up the tracking.

I only used CJ/eBay as an additional monetization source on sites that visitors might be interested in collectibles and I had been making a pretty decent chunk of change from that.

I have a quick question for BANS users.

Should Pepperjam Network launch with BANS initially with eBay US?

If we do this we may be able to go LIVE on BANS by the end of the week or early next week.

    OR...

Should we wait until we implement the remaining eBay International programs and then go LIVE on BANS?

The implementation of eBay International on Pepperjam Network may take a week or several weeks since we are currently focused on US traffic.

So - would you like us to go LIVE with the eBay US on BANS or wait and go LIVE with eBay International (i.e. ebay.co.uk, .au, etc.)?

my vote is to get bans out the door asap - so we can keep making our $$$$ and then roll out other countries later. as im already losing precious dollars with some crappy homemade fix for bans right now.

Instead of BANS I'd be much more interested in PJN/eBay working with phpBay. Wade may be busy working on phpBay, but hopefully he can work with PJN to get it working soon. I've got a bunch of sites that really could use it :)

I'd like to see BANS work with PJN now for USA as long as I can still use EPN for my international sites.
