IDEA: Use "Google Search Appliance" to build niche search engine?

is it possible to use http://www.google.com/enterprise/gsa/features.html to build custom search engine?

thoughts?

 

Might not be that easy.

1) You still have to crawl the entire web to find content that applies to your niche.

2) You have to have enough storage to track where you've crawled as well as cache the pages and store the index.

 

Yep, but its all included, its hardware + software

 

It's capable of indexing your own content. It's not capable of indexing the entire web.
