We operate on a KISS approach, as in Keep It Simple Stupid. You will do just fine if use use a simple sales technique known as a features and benefits presentation, and if you include a "call to action." You should be able to do this yourself. I wrote about this on our blog at http://tucsonseosolutions.com/websitesarelikecarsalespersons. I would suggest reading this it gives a more detailed explanation of the point that I made here.

If we don't know what your site is about, how can we give you sound recommendations that will actually help you?

Perry Rose selling is selling... It make little difference what the website is about. Any seasoned sales person knows that you provide the features and the benefits, and then you ask for the sale. I didn't make this up... This concept has been around for ever. Of course if your not selling anything then this would not apply.

The KISS formula is relevant, but the one that knowledgable marketing people follow is the AIDA one.
    It breaks down thusly:
    1. A = Attention = Make someone aware that they have a problem.
    2. I = Interest = Tell them that you have the solution.
    3. D = Desire = Describe what it will do for them in sufficient detail that they start to think they should buy it. This involves a list of all the features and benefits with an emphasis on What It Can Do For Them.
    4. A = Action = Ask them to place an order.

To understand the idea, just analyze the host of radio and TV commercials. The memorable ones are all based on this four step pattern.
For example, recall two long time successful ads:
A = What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like? I = Haven't you heard about EasyOff (oven cleaner)?
    A = Oo-er! Ring around the collar? I = Aren't you using Wisk?
Their creators were able to "make the pitch" in less than a minute!

What are you offering? Why should people use your product? Why not your competition? Who has benifited from your website? Use Testimonials.... Selling does not have to be rocket science.. Put yourself in your customers shoes. The KISS rule is a good one. Fill a need &/or disire and back it up why you are most qualified for the job.

The example that I always use is the visit to a new car dealer. You know that when you go they are going to explain the vehicles new features. Then the sales person will explain how they benefit you, and finally that person will ask for the sale. That's very basic sales at it's best.

As for the AIDA point, this is also very useful the only difference is the attention part. We don't focus on the attention part, on the website, because you have already accomplished that by luring the visitor to the website. Just make sure that you do not add a bunch of distractions to your website and all of these methods will work.

I can't stress how important it is to ask for the sale.

Here - I have your answer for you:

Think of the cheesiest keywords you can think of...like "Turn your Underpants into an ATM" or "Underwear Cash" or "Get rich while you're picking the crud out of your toenails" or...some lines like that...or I think you can just try "join MLM"

    Enter them into google.

Watch how many sales pages and ebooks and "free giveaways if you give us your email" sites you'll get. You can get some great ideas from them.

    Good Luck to you.
