aren't there sites that list proxy sites? you go to these sites and you can download a file that contains proxy sites. Maybe try and get on one of those, there's a few Ebooks or reports available on this topic (a while back it was though, don't know if they are still up at the moment) you could find those in the buy sell and trade section of the forum, if you're willing to spend a bit of money that is greetz, jobic
check out the following posts http://psdproxies.com/proxy-guide-part-5/ http://psdproxies.com/proxy-guide-part-4/ hope they help
Yes you can use proxy list sites like for example www.proxypromotions.com However you can also use various other methods such as yahoo groups, yahoo answers, forum signatures for building links (long term) Have a look at some of the articles on here www.back-links.org They should help you
Best ideas are like join social websites and join proxy communities and promote it in other communities too . Let you friends know why should they use proxy . Join big groups on yahoo and Google and add little description of your proxies and link in signature and keep taking parts in all topics and reply to them that reply will be received by thousands of members too .
Take a look at the proxy.org or digitalpoint users signatures. Many people have proxy lists or directories in their signature. Chek them in alexa for a little traffic overview and take the best sites for your proxies.
1) Buy an ad on Proxy.org in the top 10 - 20 positions for a month. 2) Submit to around 5 - 10 good proxy topsites - when I say good I mean good as in Google PR or Alexa, or both, to get backlinks and possible PR. Topsites don't give you traffic, period. They are good for free backlinks, and that too only if you submit to quality topsites. 3) Submit to Google / Yahoo proxy groups (checkout the proxy thread here for links) every once in two weeks - this will bring in extra traffic and is good for word-of-mouth popularity. After a month or so you'll have enough repeat traffic thanks to Proxy.org and also quite a lot from Google / Yahoo groups - though they are getting crowded. And then it grows further by word-of-mouth popularity from existing users. One thing to note is don't bother purchasing the $20 ad on Proxy.org or anything which doesn't appear within the top 30 sites at-least - it won't be worth it. You'll get like 200 uvs a day and it will stop there. Get one of the top ads and then you'll have traffic for a long time. Submitting to topsites is optional and rarely brings any traffic if ever - the only reason I used to do it was to get backlinks which are always good. Don't do more than 10 topsites (I stick to only 5 good ones), unless you like lots of animated gifs on your proxies. And you better make sure that your proxy is fast - otherwise your top position ad on proxy.org is useless. One more thing I'd suggest is to make your URL box on the main page BIG and CLEAR, because that's the only reason people will come to your site - they don't come to see your ads - they come to use your proxy - and if you feed that need nicely, they'll keep coming back! It's not a good idea to make the URL form tiny and with very little whitespace - you know the sites where it looks like the ads are trying to just squeeze the url form and fighting for space.
Do a search for the word proxy on DP. There's about 15 or 20 members giving out free advertising and it gives you an immediate giant / instant boost in traffic. Also buy the yahoo proxy group advertising services you see on here. It made mine giant inside 30 days. Don't buy my service though if you see it because I no longer own it nor run it. I sold my entire network to focus on my current project. Hope this helps everyone looking to make their proxies bigger.
I set one up last year , and after 2 months the host closed me down. I then setup an affiliate proxy on it and it stll gets hits , although not as many. I only did one thing ( lazy! ) and was earning $20 a day. I know not much but if I had 10 of them.. 100 of them.. I paid for Social Bookmarking Submission service here at Digital Point and that was it really.. I got tons of traffic from myspace cause people started spreading the word.. But then software gets clever and starts blocking the new proxys.. Just my 2 cents..
