I think theres nothing wrong with riciprocal link and beside, There is nothing in googles TOS, that says you cannot do link trades.

It is a helpful tips for beginners.

Reciprocal link is not good for SEO if you link exchange to unrelated site or what we called "link farm". Link farm is excessive links and use of unrelated site that might cause it to be penalize. But It also give benefits if you link exchange to related site and site with good web traffic.

good quote about overnight success, fortunately our business comes mainly from referrals and not web traffic so i don't lose too much sleep over it but more success with the website would be welcome for sure.

Its is your opinion Sir, but I dont agree that reciprocal linking is bad. For me, Reciprocal links is a good way of gaining backlinks. Might depend on how you will use this process. For some reason, Google didnt give high value to reciprocal links but it still works.

He said if you submit your website to a search engine database more than once, your site will get banned. That is absolutely not true. He also said that you should submit your website to Yahoo, which most people cannot afford to do, as it's $300 (I can think of a variety of things that money could be better spent on).
