Ok recently read this ebook about using competitors in identifying money making keywords and niches. It saids to use keyword Elite, to find a niche, product, etc which may be profitable then find a affiliate that is promoting that product, with those keywords. Then use 'spy' feature in KE to watch the add for a week. The thing i dont understand is how do you actually know if the competitor is using thoese keywords. From what i have gathered, you type the keyword into google e.g. "make money online" and thoese affiliate who come up are using the words "make money online" then you add those URL links to KE of the affiliates advertising on google. Then check each day if they are still advertising for about a week. So my question is, is it possible to obtain all the keywords used by a competitor using Keyword Elite?
This is really not a very good method of analysis... There are too many reasons why people jump in and out of a market. Just because a competitor is here one day and not the next does not mean its a failed market. If the keyword has competition and there is a product worth buying, then there is money to be made. A word of advice, get away from all the make money offers. You not going to make money, selling how to make money... because you don't know how to make money... Try to sell something you know, or something you can learn about, but everyone and there mom and their mom is trying to sell make money online offers. The real money is in what you know...
Why is this a bad method? If you watched something using a particular keyword with adwords, and their add has stayed on 1st page adwords for more then 7 days, then this must mean they are making profit? Why would they continue selling at a loss?
Is this that famous e-book that tells you how to make money by keeping your client's webpage on the google serach page #1?
A good way that I find which keywords the competitors use is by looking at the source code of their main page. Here are the top keywords bringing traffic to their site. There are some online keyword tools such as spyfu.com but those are not really that accurate.
Well.. You have to copy their whole website even the landing pages , destination URL, displayed URL, keywords + Bids + Ad copies.. and make a try ... If it works you are lucky loll to spy competitors use spyfu.com i like them..
the point is if there is search volume and a couple competitors bidding for the keyword, then there is money to be made. Why do you need a tool to tell you this? Has anyone ever found a keyword that had searches and competitors and then came to the conclusion there is no money in it? I doubt it...
I think it works better if you can do intel on highly profitable long-term successful competition. Not just the fly by night deals. You need to make sure you are copying a winning combination before you throw money in the wind.
A winning combination would be using a similar landing pages/pre-sell page + similar/same super targeted keywords, + ??
