Perverts Gaming Google Serps?

I stumbled on this story today: http://www.promotion-expert.com/google/google-approves/

It's about a perverted image coming up in G's regular serps for the search term "leads".

1- Why would G show that graphic image of a woman's privates?

2- How did that web site game G into displaying that pic?

3- How can I ask G to remove that?

I don't think that Google should be showing overly graphic images for terms like this. How many kids have found the same thing?

What do you think about this??

Even though the image filter should catch it, it is relevant. Its talking about where each of the parts leads. I wont go into detail but click on the picture (mature people only =/) and youll see where leads comes in.

Nothing new but Google should be more aware. You can report via Webmasters sitemap tool

Has it always been like this? Really? I know that you can turn image filter on and block mature pics, but I didn't know images like this would show in filtered results.

I guess it is related, in a weird way. But is that the image that people really want to see when they search for "leads"??? I don't think so. It is way to mature, and nobody that searched for leads would want to see a graphic image of a female body parts. At least I wouldn't, and I don't want my kids seeing results like this when doing research for school.

Good point-- mature eyes only please!! ;)

I can't believe Google would show this. Would Matt Cutts approve? Is this an example or "do no evil", or is it just a mistake>>

Forgive my ignorance, but where can I find the webmasters sitemap tool??

    Thanks!!

    :)

A bit of an over reaction?

I hardly think an anatomical image is "evil".

It's nothing to do with perverts... it's an image on a health site :D

Albeit one that is misplaced in this Google search...

Maybe I am over reacting. The image is very mature though, and shouldn't be a first return for this search term.

    lololol Funny.

It's very graphical and inapropriate... at least to me. Misplaced? Yeah.

Lmfao this is the internet. I could name you 100s of things that are sick and twisted about the internet. And this is definately not one of them. Oh no! A cartoon drawing of a vagina! As if anyone searches for images with the key word "leads" anyway.

Search "tubgirl" or "BME pain olympics"... The internet isn't made of roses and petals.

Agree 100%. This is a non-issue. Google's algo is definitely not 100% perfect but it is probably by far the best one around.

This graphic image did not come up under an image search. It was under regular serps, while the image was posted at the top as the first of 3 related images.

Apparently Matt Cutts agreed. I Sphinned this story. Cutts agreed that it was inappropriate and had it removed.

I guess the question left now is why didn't Google remove this result when it was reported earlier?

P.S. I can see that this is no big deal for a lot of you. I've got that ok. Personally, I don't want my kids seeing overly graphic images like this. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think so.

I guess you wouldn't bring them to an art exhibit then.. To your question why it wasn't removed before is because it required human intervention. Since it was on a health site the subject is not adult oriented so much so the algos din't spot that.

But really nudity IMO is not that much of a sin to everyone (if this is indeed what was shown). Plenty of nudist will tell you differently, so will doctors, etc.

However i do strongly think children that are too young to understand the naked body that we all have, shouldn't even be on the net in the first place.
