Accepting PayPal without a PayPal Account?

Discussion in 'PayPal' started by EnPassant, Jun 1, 2008.

    Hello,

The thread title probably confuses you. I will explain it briefly.
Actually, I'd want to accept PayPal payments but I do not have a PayPal account due to PayPal support limitations for different countries. Is it possible to accept PayPal payments from clients in a fast and efficient way, then have that 3rd party send me the funds by wire transfer or something worldwide / global accepted?

Its hurting my online business very much, and would appreciate any suggestions.

I don't think so you will be able to accept paypal paymetn without having a paypal account. You can write paypal customer care and they will tell you.

Check Plimus. Plimus Can accept Paypal Payments on your behalf and then send you the amount after deducting their fees.

    Method 1:
If you are selling something then simply make a buynow product in 2CO and you can ask your clients to buy the thing from 2CO marketplace .

    Method 2:
If you can't do the above thing then ask someone else (Your friend, relative or anyone who got a paypal account ) to accept your paypal payments on your behalf and that guy can send you payment through check, western union or any other service your country support !!

Very nice suggestions here. So to get this short list,

    Plimus is option 1.

Using a friend PayPal is option 2.

The 2CO option is out of my interest, I do not want to be involved in credit card problems and chargebacks..I had a previous experience with them, and it was not that good.

XOOM sends money to limited number of countries too.

I think Plimus will be my more reliable option, and I am trying to sign up with them now. :)

I already setup an account with Plimus. Sounds too good to be true, are there any actual reviews of them? Any merchants use wire transfer method successfully?

If you wish to go with Plimus, you must understand few things regarding their services, the thing that matters the most is the nature of your product. I mean what will you be receiving money for?
If you are a free lancer, a SEO, a coder, A designer or provide different services like these, then the chances are that Plimus closes your vendor accoutn, because according to their terms you must use it as a merchant, i.e. to sell products off your website.
    Clear enough?

    Cheers!

Update I've contacted them and got a reply back in less than hour, they say that statement is not true. I can sell the mentioned services "freelance, design, graphic" as I described them in my prior email. So I guess its fine. :)

Well, of course you can not receive Paypal payment directly if you don't have account, however you can get it indirectly using third party services like Xoom.

Because my clients won't be from publics. You know in freelancing, you get know your client, and things often run smooth.

I am happy with Plimus so far, they answered couple support requests very quickly and thats the main thing.
