Hi, I have been working really hard on one of my sites and would like to know how often does google update its index? I have a really good SERP but have since gained many more backlinks, so wondered when with these be counted. Thanks Dee PS Hope that made sense
It simply depends on your pagerank. A high ranked page gets crawled more frequently than a low ranked page. Other search engines have different policies. You might notice other search engines visit your site more than google. Put a sitemap and make sure you get lots of backlinks.
Hi, well it is a new site therefore has a PR0, I already have a sitemap and am building backlinks daily, although when I check backlinks using yahoo site explorer it shows a lot less than I believe it should Basically as an example if I was position 10 and had 100 backlinks and carried on building backlinks and got up to say 300, when should I expect to see a rise in SERPS? Thanks Dee
If you have google webmaster tools you can set your crawl rate. Now that doesn't mean they will index you fast but it helps.
Thanks, my site is indexed, as I said it has great ranking, but since it last climbed the Serps I have gained many more backlinks, so I was just wondering when Google will find these new backlinks and move me up the Serps. Google crawls my site every day.
Google is constantly crawling, indexing, updating and scoring the factors that go towards your sites rankings. Chances are most of it is already being counted towards your SERP's, just keep doing what you are doing it sounds like you are on the right track. When you think you have enough backlinks.. Get some more. Also get links to all your subpages and not just the homepage, this is far more beneficial than people realize.
