I'm a bit biased but I like using my keyword tool. It pulls from wordtracker's data but also allows you to do a competition search to see how many competitors you have in google, yahoo, and msn for that keyword. It also comes with an in-depth video series that teaches the foundation of keyword research (also free).

The best paid one I think is Keyword Elite. Best free one, Wordtracker.

I would have to suggest Nichebot, Jim is a great guy and all the tutorials are great.

    Just my 2 cent

Nichebot is definitely cool. It's neat how you have access to so many different tools under it. It is a bit confusing though.

You have to really set aside quite a few hours to get the full use out of it, I have devoted about 30 hours to learning so far and I will do even more in the coming weeks, It helps out a lot with long tail goals

I think Google keywords is not enough. Google Trends is enough. Combined with wordtracker: GTrends :) See the link. I found about this tool from 30 Day Challenge site it is pretty cool. Let me know what you think

    Been there done that,
    Nichebot is my primary
and googles tools are my secondary, doing things properly means using the best of everything for your end goal, using one or the other will always leaves gaps and your competition will close in on you with that.

    just my 2 cents.

lifeAfterEbay, Google gets over 70% of search engine traffic, why isn't your primary? It's little weird.

Because I have really been focusing on 3 - 5 word long tail phrases and I dont mind paying for services when they expand my reach, understanding and save me time.

    regards

East or West... Google Keyword Tool is the best. If you need more CTR in adsense, use this tool...

I agree! Who better to tell you which words are best for AdSense than the big "G" themselves!

Although, wordtracker does supply sooooo much information! As does NichBot, If I had to use a pay service, I'd probably go NichBot..

I don't understand why nobody wants Gtrends (google trends + word tracker) from 30DC. Anyone tried it has, any experiences with it?

Nichebot is a pretty cool way to get a less expensive way to get access to wordtracker (15$ a month for the lite subscription)
