Anyone here ever get penalized before by Google??? If so --- what was the cause of it?? If you get penalized or banned ---- can you "appeal" it with Google????
I have been penalized a few times. Just last month, one of my blogs was hacked and the hacker placed 1000s of spammy links on it. The site lost all its SERPs. If you use Google webmaster tools, you may request a reinclusion.
I got penalized because of a htaccess error... Phpld was creating unlimited amounts of fake directories because of my mistake... It was too late when i noticed that. I filled several reinclusion forms but nothing changed...
Was that from AdSense? I use YPN myself and have no problems with them. 100 a month for stagnent sites and active sites.
I am planning on moving my site onto a new server ---- can that effect me?? Also --- wow, hacked with 1000 spammy links ------ thats crazy!! Are you still trying to resolve it???
I removed the links, but the site is already penalized. I requested a reinclusion, but that doesn't work always.
I asked for a reinclusion friday and today my site got his page rank back. That's very nice from Google.
Saturdays and Sundays are off in US. I guess your site was never penalized - it was just a technical glitch or something.
That's correct. If Google support even worked on weekends your mail haven't been read due high amount of e-mails Google get. Maybe your G toolbar went off or something.
I usually check PR with different sites, I don't have Google Toolbar installed and I never thought that this can happen so fast but I noticed this thread and went to check my PR today, I checked with 2-3 sites and is PR 3 back. The PR was missing for 1-2 months. I don't think it can be only a glitch and solved right now, when I was asking for a reinclusion. I was also reading some other threads and some times they gave back the PR in 3-4 days.
You guys are confusing two things. The algo and a penalty. Things like spam links will drop you down in the serps and rise back up when they are removed when the G bot realted to this aspect of the Algo next surfs your site. A penalty is completly different. It just sits there. e.g. the - 50 serp penalty for selling links etc
I have had domains dropped from the google index. It has to do with the domain being spammy or in some cases black hat. Some of the domains still produce traffic from Yahoo and generate adsense clicks.
A client of me was penalized because he didn't listen to me haha. He had hidden text on another website of him. I told him it could get him penalized but he didn't listen. When he received a mail from Google with the reason why he was penalized, I had to fix the problem for him, and I did of course. Now it is not penalized anymore, but if he took my word serious it wouldn't have happened.
My site is penalized for sure but I don't understand why. My site used to rank on top for its title, but after penalty, its on the last page.
