Discussion: .NET vs .ORG

I was wondering in a competitive niche when .COM is not available, what would you prefer: .NET or .ORG?
Google should treat them in very much the same way. But do you think it makes difference for the visitor/customer?
Are we allowed to run commercial sites on .ORG domains? Share your thoughts

 

Personally i like .NET best, google should treat them the same though. Still some people are absolutely sure .ORG is some kinda nasty stuff. I would go for .NET

 

Usually I use .net, but it depends what it's for.

.org if it's for something more professional

 

.Net has more resale value.

It's not an easy task to find a good .COM domain in a competitive niche nowadays. Almost impossible.

I personally like the .org, but I am beginning to realize that .net is more valuable.

 

I just love dotORG.

I am finally finding people who like .org as much as I do, but why does .net sell for higher?

 

I feel .net is better for commercial use. Dot org feels like some non profit group
