    Good pick there atul.
We should be having those horrifying pictures on the cigarette packs just like they have it in West and other countries.

This is a good start, wonder if there is any country brave enough to just ban tobacco straightaway? I will really salute that country.

Tobacco is bad for you! It would be awesome if a country bans tobacco permanently. But what are the odds of that happening? Probably slim to none.

Tobacco does more harm than the taxes it gave the government, imagine the huge expenses spend on tobacco related diseases.

Matter is not celebrating such days. Big deal is to eradicate this BS smoking and drinking from whole world. I don't understand why people have this habit. Just for fun, show or anything else which is no use at all. Still a long way to go.... :)

On Monday, DUSU flagged off a signature movement against tobacco consumption which will run for three days. Till Thursday, every college will have a banner put up on its premises for students and teachers to sign on it, pledging to stop smoking, at least on campus. Thereafter, anybody spotted smoking inside a college or even on the roads, will be challaned by Delhi Police.

    Tobacco-Related Diseases

Bladder cancer is an uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the bladder, the balloonlike organ that stores urine.

Chronic laryngitis is a persistent disorder that produces lingering hoarseness and other voice changes.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) refers to a group of disorders that damage the lungs and make breathing increasingly more difficult over time.

Coronary artery disease is the term commonly used to describe the buildup of fatty deposits and fibrous tissue (plaques) inside the arteries that supply blood to the heart (the coronary arteries).

Emphysema is a progressive respiratory disease in which millions of the lungs' tiny air sacs (alveoli) stretch out of shape or rupture.

Esophageal cancer is the abnormal growth of cells in the esophagus, the tube that carries food and drink from your throat to your stomach.

Cancers of the gallbladder and bile ducts are rare. The gallbladder is a small, pear-shaped organ situated under the liver in the upper abdomen. It stores bile, a fluid produced by the liver that helps to digest fat.

Head and neck cancer begins with the abnormal growth of cells. These cancerous cells multiply out of control, eventually forming a tumor.

If you have high blood pressure that has not been diagnosed, or that is not being treated adequately, you are at greater risk of having a heart attack, stroke, kidney failure and blindness.

Lung cancer usually occurs because some outside factor, called a carcinogen, has triggered the growth of abnormal, cancerous cells in the lung.

Cancer of the pancreas is abnormal cell growth in the tissue of the pancreas.

Prostate cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the prostate gland, a gland near the base of the penis that produces part of the fluid in semen.

Stomach cancer (gastric cancer) is any malignant tumor that arises in the lining of the stomach.

A stroke is an illness that suddenly disrupts the brain's function by interfering with part of its blood supply.
