I am switching from blogger to wordpress. Can somebody explain how this will affect my SEO rankings if I have a new url? Do I simply redirect traffic or is it more difficult?

I'm not sure what you mean by "SEO Ranking?" I believe you likely mean your search ranking. You will need to redirect and you will want to use a 301 redirect. You will likely see a fall off in your rankings while the search engines readjust. A lot of things can go wrong here so you need to be careful.

However, when you do change over you will want to include the plugin "all in one SEO." The tool allows you to create page titles, page descriptions, and keywords. I have used this tool to land many article onto the first SERP of Google.

Do you have blogspot.com blog or have customized domain on blogger?

If you have customized domain on blogger and plan to use the same domain on Wordpress, then there is no need to worry about permalinks. You can completely customize your permalink structure in wordpress and make it compatible with all your blogger posts.

If you need help mail me.

As Geeurbie, simply redirect your old links to their new locations. You may see a temporary dip in your search engine rankings, but if this happens it will be temporary at best.

Bear in mind that WordPress has some MAJOR SEO issuse; please look at my "WordPress SEO Checklist" (in my signature - it goes to a thread on the SitePoint forums) for details on how to fix them.

No matter what you do, you will see a drop-off in traffic for at least a couple of months.

Months? Try a couple of days to a week at most, unless you did something horribly wrong.

If you're doing well with it I advice you to keep it, changing is unnecessary if you're already on the track.
