Biz Directory script

Is this script still available? I see sites running on it and I'd like to run a directory on it.

I found the download link to be http://www.biz-directory.org/directory_script.php which is dead.

Anyone know anything about it? Anyone have a copy of the installation by chance?

    Thanks

The very first directory I built (probably around five years ago) was made with the old biz directory script. It was HORRIBLE! Very few features, lack of support, and the script is susceptible to auto-submit spam. I don't remember the script ever receiving any major upgrades either. The only reason I used it back then was it was virtually the only directory script around at the time. Now there are so many options for directory scripts (most free or fairly cheap)...and all better than that biz directory script.

By the way: if you absolutely want to use the biz directory script, it can now be found at this domain: http://www.freephpdirectoryscript.com/

The thing I liked about the biz one is that you could choose either to submit a link to the directory for free of purchase a featured link and there was no need to register to submit a link. Are there other free directories that have those features?

    Thanks a lot.

PHP Link Directory offers everything that the old biz directory script did plus much, MUCH more (I would assume most of the other commonly used scripts do all you want as well but have no direct experience). And PHPLD has a nice support forum if/when you have any questions or problems.

If you want to use it for a base to build a custom directory it makes a very good script to start with and it’s the only cross referencing script that I know of. I use it on several directories including WoW Directory.

Almost all the free directory scripts can reach the aim you mentioned.

Even the upgraded link option to purchase featured links? Because the few that I've tried don't seem to have that features. Could I have some other examples please? Thanks

    To Stoner3221,

I just seen your directory site (Skaffe Directory - skaffe.com) and I like it. Could you please advice here about the directory site script you used? Is the script free or commercial script?

The Skaffe script is a custom script and WoW started with the Biz Directory script full version that cost $700 at the time. It has had extensive custom scripting to meet my needs. When these directories were built you could not buy a good script, you had to build it. The canned directory did not exist thank goodness. You actually had to know what you were doing to have a directory.
