Amazon - Japan associates.

Hi. I just got approved for a Japanese associate account.

Anyhow, I need to know how to setup payment information. Apparently, they do direct deposits into Japanese banks only, right? Do I need to create a Japanese bank account or something now? I live in the United States ! I would like them to wire transfer money into my internet bank account, but I can't figure it out. I don't know if they send out checks overseas either.

Does anyone living in the USA have a Japanese Amazon affiliate account? Thanks.

Actually, for non-Japan residents, Japanese Amazon pays only via Amazon.co.jp Site gift certificate.
There is no banking transaction or any other options available for overseas payment.
So, if you live in the US, you can only receive a gift certificate. You do not need to create a bank account or anything.
About 60 days following the end of each month, Amazon will send it to you if the total amount is over 1,500 yen.

I would imagine if you want to get paid cash then you will need a japanese bank account somehow. How easy this is, I don't know. It is possible for a UK resident like myself to get a US bank account, so maybe it can be done in Japan also.

 

Well, I am afraid things are somewhat difficult..
Firstly the applicant address must be in Japan to select payment via bank. It is the address of applicant that matters.
The details of the terms and conditions are described in the Operating Agreement. (You agree to this when registering.)
I guess Amazon gift payment is also popular as no fee and no tax will be deducted.

I can make Japan amazon astore, just use how familiar when make amazon.com or amazon.co.uk astore

But I do realize that I will have problem with promote in Japanese..
I think I run amazon.jp just for fun, I don't expect that I will make money ^_^

I'm an amazon japan associate (live in japan). I get paid in my Japanese bank account. You need a Japanese bank, or Japanese address at least to get the gift certificates. I suppose you could have a japan Citibank account, and then take money out anywhere. I think they have a $1000 minimum balance though.

Why doens't amazon just pay out for whatever site the buyer happens to use? It seems pretty lame to hav eto have a separate associate site for every country.

 

Any idea how I can open up a JP Bank account when I live in the US?
