puremonopoly : its an english economics word meaning roughly; "When one company has the control over the entire market for a product, usually because of barriers to entry. With the ability of price control and supply setting, this monopoly is extremely rare in any sort of market unless it is a government granted monopoly because of some inherent factors that make it crucial for a monopoly to exist.

Otherwise, it may exist under certain circumstances, such as; a patent created monopoly which gives the company unilateral control over the extire market for a product, a cartel or illegal trust monopoly, or a natural monopoly where the supply for a product comes from one source because of natural barriers to entry that makes it nearly impossible for others to enter the market and survive."

no one has an estimate of what they think its worth. I did an appraisal on it to see what an appraisal company would say and they gave me a $180,000-$260,000 range. But as in any appraisal its speculative. Hypothetically, if you were looking for this domain, what price range would you find as fair market? I'm not looking to sell it. Oh and here is a smiley to persuade you to leave a comment ;) lol..

I don't know which appraisal company you utilized but I think they were over generous with their quote. Generally double jointed dot coms command a value at about 1/100 of either word in their name. There are A few however that are worth a lot more, (eg; MedicalInsurance.com!) A classic example would be Guitars.com which could easily fetch $250,000+ if placed in the right buying market. However its close cousins LeadGuitars.com or BaseGuitars.com would command about $2,500+ in their respective markets due to the share amount of combinations available.

The same generalization could be said for puremonopoly.com where pure.com
    and monopoly.com are valued $xxx,xxx+ area, puremonoply.com a double
jointed word would fetch $2,000-$4,000 if placed in the right buying market.:)

Although it may be considered a double jointed word, its also one word in economics relating to total control of a market mechanism. I was offered $1,000,000 for it last week after turning down offers on it repeatedly by the same buyer since 2007. wikipedia.org's definition of monopoly references puremonopoly as the strongest [and most elite] form of monopoly. Anti-trust laws were established in the USA to combat' against illegal' trusts that controlled entire markets. A puremonopoly is considered extremely anti-competitive because there can be only one controller. pwn. ... ...ty for your appraisal ROOFIS. I appreciate your analysis.

Did you accept the offer? You know America.com hit the $1,000,000.00 bidding mark a few days ago and I think is still being bided on. Can I
ask which forum or Domain selling agency you sold puremonopoly.com
    at? :)

    daily searches for pure monopoly
    Wordtracker 12
    Google 15
    Yahoo 4
    MSN 2

I think if someone really offered you $10,000 you shouldn't hesitate for a second.

I have no intensions in selling it. I was offered on the grapevine by someone in realtime'. Apparently, even though puremonopoly.com is a private registration, some seem to have 733t passes to skip that wall ^_^ and call me direct. The person that bid on the domain is a well-known and highly respected economist. I have yet to accept the offer. However, the economist did INSIST on leaving me a $5,000 deposit with the option to purchase if I ever did change my mind.
...I did happen upon America.com during its online bidding... I'm not sure if the reserve has been met on that domain. I'd appraise that domain in the high $x,xxx, xxx to low $xx,xxx, xxx.

Maybe if I was offered... no, I really don't see an offer that I'd be willing to sell on. $1,000,000 is nothing. That's like asking me when I was 3 years old if I would sell a candybar for $0.25. I'd take the candy then! Now, I'd probably choose the vegetable over the candy. But, I'd still choose the vegetable over its equivalent in money to a degree in which its logical of course. thank you for your stats..

Give me a break. Go play millionaire somewhere else. A $5,000 deposit with an option to purchase if you ever change your mind. ROTFL!
