Graphics Contest $20 per design $100 to the winner

Well, I guess if a poll isn't an option, I will vote for myself too!

 

Well if the work is not up to your standards I will not bother voting for myself but what about the $20 promised to each contestant for taking the time to participate? I for one do expect this for the effort and for presenting you with fresh ideas for your project. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't like the submissions but personally I think some of the designs were quite interesting.

 

hahahah, well he said that most of the designs did not meet his standards, not all. And I still do not see how a clear winner will be determined based on our graphical skills, since the only people voting are the ones whom have submitted an entry and or their friends whom they tell to vote for them...lol, seems more like a popularity contest to me. I honestley think it would be a lot more fair if Gary just picked the one he liked the best instead of all this voting mumbo jumbo, but eh i guess thats just how i think.

Okay first of all if this wasn't the “style” of website you were looking for why did you give us these templates? When you tell people to edit a template you are limiting them to the look and feel of that template. If you wanted to do a design contest to see people's design skills you should have made this contest, a design contest and had everyone make their site from scratch. I like other people here didn't just submit a site for $20; it wouldn’t have been worth my time! I did it for the possibility of being hired on as a freelance web designer, with “more work than I could handle.” I for one think everyone that submitted an entry did an excellent job. To be honest anyone with a copy of Photoshop or Dreamweaver could have edited these templates with the required buttons. But everyone here went above and beyond by adding their own style and flair to this project. I would've preferred if there was no serious intent of a job offer that this post and the Craig's list Ad just stated web design contest, just for fun. Everyone would have been happier and no promises would've been broken.

that's not what I exspected when I decided to take part in that competition that not even a winner is annouced and the one that holds the contest apprears when he feels like to change rules and stuff like he wants it to bi....

 

lol...nonononono S D, Nicky is not invoicing me. She just said she is voting for me, then said she will be invoicing Gary for the 20 dollars he promised to all whom participated in this contest. From his last message, he said that he would tally up the votes this past Wednesday and then PM the winner and send the money via PayPal. It does not seem like he has done so or else we would all be informed. Like I said before, regardless of how busy he may be, this is a contest that Gary is hosting and he should at least keep us updated especially on the deadlines that he sets himself. If he is swamped with soooo much work, I would think he would hurry up and pick a winner already to help him with all this work. Well if anyone else hears anything from Gary please let us know.

I sent Gary an email last night and he says he hasn't been back here to the forum and "was hoping everybody would vote for their favorite design".

So, I guess there's still some hope left. But this is exactly why I usually don't get involved with competitions. This was my first and I think my last.

Keep your fingers crossed that this is over soon.

 

well I think he should move his a** on here every day bc he's hosting this competition and why sin't he able to pay the 20$ to everybody who entered before a winner is selectet there is no problem to submit the rest of the money to the winner afterwards.....

can imaginge that sombody is that busy that he's not even able to check on a contest that will help him to get some work done

Anyone hear anything new from sir Gary? I hope whomever he picks will always get paid ON TIME for his work and not get this run around dilly dally, or else all this work he is promising will not be worth it if this is what we would have to go through in order to just get paid for our work each time. GARY!!! PLEASE RESPOND

 

I would recomand the one gary pic'S only to start work when he got payed best way to make sure you don't waste your time

I"m so sorry for not getting back to everybody here earlier. I was teaching at an Internet Marketing Seminar.
So looks like most people either voted for themselves or Karloze. So if everybody can confirm that I will select him as the winner. I will be checking this page every 1-2 days.

Karloze Karloze's design is a bit hard to read. The rest look ok, but I think I will vote for Go_on, because of the nice clean look and style .
