I run an adult website, and though I've been using Paypal to process my payments, they are now riding my back about their stupid "Acceptable Use" policy crap, and are threatening to close my account if I keep having "violations." In any event, I want to axe paypal and continue receiving payments via my adult site, which will require my to use another service. Which online payment processors are reliable and accept adult merchants?
CCBill.com is pretty trusted and welcome adult merchants. They just launched some new features too. You might want to check them out. They also provide hosting for adult merchants, and have an affiliate program.
I checked with CCBill, but they want my social security number. Why do they want my social and what will my social be used for?
Its for tax info. Its the same for other adult processors US or international. Is Cygnus a star constellation?
Yes all payment processors and banks are required to report to the IRS, even paypal. BTW you should stop using paypal for adult immediately, my friend was doing that and paypal terminated him and put him on the visa/mc TMF file. He won't be allowed to process credit cards with any other bank/merchant for 5 years.
BS. Paypal is never sent me a 1099, so you're wrong, they don't report directly to the IRS. Google does, they sent me a 1099, but Paypal and other payment processors do not automatically do it, if they did you'd get a 1099. Yeah, I already got threatened by Paypal, but screw them. I'm making money, and those bitches aren't going to stand in my way. I want money, and I don't give a crap how I make it. Adult is legit, its a billion dollar industry, and will be here till the end of time. Paypal and these other pricks need to get over it...... Thanks for the advice......Does e-gold have a "Buy Now" button where people can sign up and pay you monthly subscriptions?
CCBill, Epoch, NetBilling – all bill for adult. If I had to pick one it would be CCBill. They have an almost 2 million member Affiliate Network – mostly adult – and their Cascading system leverages those other providers as alternate billers. they're also one of the only other processors that have Regional Pricing, allowing you to set pricing for specific geographic regions – to battle the loss of revenue overseas due to the declining dollar.
Wow you really should do more research before you jump into any more financial contracts. Paypal doesn't send you a 1099 because IRS form 1099 is for businesses to pay "contractors" (affiliates, consultants, advisors, sales agents etc), paypal doesn't send out 1099's because they don't pay you, you only use their service. You wouldn't expect a 1099 from your bank or Visa/Mastercard would you? But, just like your bank and your credit card company paypal is required to collect your SSN and under the patriot act is required to disclose details about your transactions. Now as for adult, yea it's a totally legit industry I've been in adult since 2001 myself. But the reason paypal doesn't accept adult websites is because there is a high chargeback ratio. This is why companies like epoch and ccbill have to charge such high transactions rates, to offset all the chargebacks. If they set the rates higher everybody who isn't doing adult would just move on to another service like clickbank or 2checkout. You really need to look into getting a high risk merchant account to process adult transactions, if paypal puts you on the terminated merchant file (Visa/MC FORCE them to) you'll have a VERY hard time being able to process credit cards for another 5 years. It's just not worth the risk. Ask anyone who has ever been placed on the TMF/MATCH file.
