Is my website banned?

    Hi,

I need help - I recently registered a niche-related domain name, without doing research about its history. Only after that I came to know its a dropped domain.

Its been like a month or so since its gone live, and it has become quite popular. Yahoo shows that it has 359 backlinks, but the problem is, its not indexed in google. The site has over 100 pages. (PLR content - but duplicate content DOES get indexed in google). Also, a search on google for the domain name only, without the "site:" prefix, fetches 500+ results.

I've received like 60k visitors from Social Bookmarking sites ever since it went live, but from day 1, its not showing up in google. I've submitted a sitemap, and done possibly everything I need to do to get atleast indexed in google.

    But still..

Do you think that the domain is banned from google? (Its a dropped domain). If its banned, are there any measures I could take to get it back on track?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    -Bhavik.

I think your best bet is to contact Google themselves and explain the situation to them. Be as honest as possible.

By doing this - there is no harm done to your website if it is really banned.
I mean hey, it doesn't get much worse than that does it so the only way is UP, UP and away for your website if they unban your site if this is the case.

Good luck and would be great if you could let us know the outcome...

    Hi -

I agree with vidigi. I'd request to be reconsidered by Google. You can find the form to "Request Reconsideration" under the Webmaster Tools. I had a site that ran afoul of some problems with Google, and I took this route AND met with success. Try to supply as much useful background info as you can. They most likely won't respond via email to your request, but it's worth a try!

    Good luck!

Definitely make sure you made your robots.txt correctly... you might be blocking them!

    Submit your site to sitemaps.

Check your logs for any spider activity.

Make sure there is nothing breaking the webmaster guidelines

    And submit for reinclusion request.

If you have some good money with you than cont some good seo master on seo thread they can help you , first tell them about your site and problem . Let them rectify the problem of not getting indexed and then ask for service charges they will gonna take to get indexed . Do ask them why it wasn't getting indexed , good seo will answer you that .

Out of curiosity a while back after I launched a few blogs I emailed Google and asked to review my sites. The reason was my adsense account had been stagnant and I didn't want Google to think I was doing anything tricky with a sudden boost to traffic.

Google replied saying I had nothing to worry about. Personally I think it is a good idea to contact google every now and then just to build a relationship with them.

It won't hurt and could possibly help yourself in the long run. I read where a fella was being harassed by another webmaster that was clicking on his adsense in hopes that Google would ban him. He contacted Google about it and Google took care of it with their click fraud measures and thanked him for the heads up on the matter.

So in all of this Google may be a giant but it is run by people and those people are more than likely in the same tax bracket as we are.

First of all, thanks all for your help! Really appreciated. :)

My robots.txt is fine. It reads:

I've not submitted the URL since getting in social bookmarked in digg is enough to get it indexed from my previous experience. All my backlinks are even shown in google. (When I search the URL without using site: prefix)

    1) Submitted site to sitemap.

    2) Spider activity is normal - 650+ hits from google.

    3) Nothing is - I checked.

    4) I have to do that.

My google webmaster dashboard indicates that the site is yet to be indexed.

I think emailing google is the best option here.

Thank you all again for your help. :)
