I have experimented with a few sites, but I have no idea what to do next, should I focus on a niche, start a forum, affiliates, what?

If you were to make a new site, with profit as your goal, what would you guys do?

    I was thinking travel website?

Do something that you know something about and something you are interested in. Chasing the next biggest thing will only cause you to lose interest. Blogs are the easiest to set up and the easiest to maintain. Make sure to do original content and not just copy from elsewhere. If you can't provide original content on a regular basis, it is not the niche for you so find something that you can.

Overnight success is not reality and few sites make big profits in the short term. It takes work and work and more work to become a success. It also takes time and patience .

I understand that, I am not looking for quick money, I want a site that I can eventually make $50+/day on in the long run.

I was thinking of doing a tech blog, but that area seems to be saturated, so I have no idea what to do! I was thinking something marijuana related, since it's what I know and love, but don't think there is money in that? Unless I start a pot forum or something?

Well I was thinking of starting a forum, and using related ads, I am an affiliate of GotVape, EveryoneDoesIt.Co.Uk, BluntBros, and Herbal Smoke Shop.

Would this be a good idea or no?

Go for it bro, use a host that'll allow discussion of illegal substances and just start up a weed forum for the hell of it. Even if it's not insanely profitable, I'm sure it'll be a fun experience for you. :)

Yeah, that is what I was thinking, I used to run a warez forum that made me NO money, but it was only members from another site that got closed down, so it was fun to run, even though I wasn't making money!

I get 10-15% of each sale, so even if I only get 1 sale per month, it will pay for the sites hosting, which is good enough for me!

My advice, choose which one can give you profit and in same time you really like to do that. Its boring if you did something you not interested with that. You just waste your time if you keep do that.

I was just using my general knowledge, just viewed it as one of those things people get easy offline and wouldn't be searching for it online. I'm sure I don't know enough about this though, never actually searched it online.

But It really sounds like you have a plan naming all those already, and once you have a plan it's never a bad idea to try. Good luck.

I can only share my techniques that I always use every time when I decide what new business should I do online.

    1) Be unique - Even if the business idea is not new, make it unique, you'll do well then..
    2) Passion - Never involve in business that you do not passion in.

I will scrap business idea that does not have both.

    Hope that helps,
