The best you could probably do is to get a service through one of the Group posters here on DP. And create good ad copy bringing the group readers directly onto your site.
lol..... Many people sign up to something and dont check the box that says ''Tick here if you do not want emails'' Companies then have lists if emails where the person hasnt checked the box. These companies then let people advertise on their newsletters. So no its not spam and its not illegal
He specifically asked for an email list so he could send unsolicited emails which are illegal, if he wanted to advertise on some else's newsletter then it wouldn't be but thats not what he asked for.
Agreed. Your best bet is to a search on the keywords as not many do this as a form of getting potential customers, so they can't really offer you anything concrete. But, I wouldn't do it because you do not know how old the list is. They may say it is updated, but you will never know for sure. In addition, many who at first don't mind geting e-mail offers change their mind later on. They will just delete your mail without opening it. Overall, it is MUCH more expensive than the traditional advertising.
