There is no secret. The best traffic is from search engines, so build some links back to your site and try and improve those rankings.
Yes he is right. My first adsense website I started earning $1 everyday right out of the box. Try and find a good paying niche with not a lot of competition. Update consistenly, build a lot of links. Make it search engine friendly.

it takes time and learning, lots of learning. Keep an eye open for new methods and do some trial and error. I didn't start making a good cash flow until a year or so of using adsense.

Totally agree. Work hard on original content and SEO. Honestly, on my main site I did a very little link building. Other sites will link to your site if you have interesting and good content. As Caqliostro said 4 months is nothing. A good thing to do is to register your domain for several years ahead.
