I've just started with article marketing, trying to test the waters so to speak, and have a few articles i'd like to publish on ezinearticles in order to promote some clickbank items. In their editorial guidelines it states: So am i correct in assuming that this means I can do a redirect from the top level, but I can't do a php redirect from www.mydomain.com/page.html? If I put some type of landing page with my clickbank links there it's okay though? Maybe it's because i'm a noob or just slow-witted, but it's somewhat confusing.
Simply go to a domain name registrar and register a domain name you come up with. A .info domain is recommended. Then under the "Manage Domains", etc. section of your account where you registered your domain name, click on the "Forwarding", etc. link. Then forward your newly registered domain to your hoplink. Then go to EA, copy and paste your article (with no links in the article), and then go down to the resource box and put in your "Find Out More Info", "About Me", etc. information along with your newly registered and forwarded domain name. For example: Your www.iwanttogetrichonclickbank.info domain name that you've just registered should be forwarded to http:/yadadada.luckypublisher.hop.clickbank.net and voila!
So it IS okay to forward from the top level directly. Okay, that clears that part up. So if you can do that from a top level, why can't you do it from the second level like this--www.mysitenamehere.com/myforwardingpage/. And if i put a landing page here WITH my affiliate links it's okay? I guess i just don't understand why ezine allows forwarding only from the top level, and yet makes you put a landing page from anything else. It seems they should either allow forwarding from anywhere on your domain, or not allow forwarding at all. Or, i'm just a clueless and missing the big picture?
Honestly, I have no idea why EA has the policy. I think Google has the same policy with affiliates on adwords now too. It really doesn't bother me much. To get a .info domain is really cheap.
