Hello, I know it is deemed as bad to do recip linking because it is not natural, BUT... 1) It takes a lot of work to get good backlinks. 2) A spammy/bad site might try for a bit, but they will give up after a while. 3) Another site is not going to link to your site if it is poor quality 4) If a bad site does get a few recip blacklinks then its not going to rise much in the rankings anyway. 5) If you look on the first page of google, most of the time sites are of good quality and useful.
Provide great content and focus on building one way links to improve your rankings in the serp as your site gets more traffic people will start linking to it.
I think reciprocal links and one-way link exchanges are the best way to do it. One-way quality links can be very hard to find. As long as you keep your site down to less than 100 outbound links/exchanges i think you will be okay.
Yes reciprocal is best if that is related to your niche as well as get updated time to time .If you are looking for good one way link post comments and submit your stories to socail bookmarking site , that is the best way .
One way link is the best, Reciprocal linking is good if you are getting high pr back link from related niche to your website, 3 way really a waste of time.
First i will sure agree to do One way linking and after that Reciprocal links exchange is also the good one but if you can get quality and related links. Many webmaster believe and trying that the more and more incoming links a website has the higher up in the search engine results pages it will rank in Search engines. But its not as simple as that because with so many websites competing with each other its far more important to have high quality links from related websites rather than hundreds of links from unrelated websites. so there is lots of chances to get high ranking in G. Thanks John
Backlinks rarely hurt, but I'm deleting most requests for exchanges these days. Most are borderline related. Also, most webmasters asking for exchange, are only offering a link exchange, what they don't have to offer 90 percent of the time, is content exchange. That's what I'm after these days is Content Exchange. A few years ago, more webmasters seemed to be interested in exchanging related content for links pages that had value to visitors. What's transpired in the past few years, are many more links pages with value to just the owner of a website. What they end up with is links pages full of links that few people want to browse through.
PR Storm is meant to be good i heard..it is one of the most powerfull link spammer on the internet along with the SEO Black Hat techniques....
I was aiming it specifically at good rankings so I put it in the google section. To everyone else, the thread is in response to many people who say reciprocal linking is bad and creates false rankings. I don't need the advice on how to get good rankings .
I think both reciprocal and 3-way exchanges can help if done in moderation and sensibly. This is the big problem. I also post occasionally looking for content links, but almost never get suitable responses - because people don't have content pages perhaps, I don't know. But they are much more valuable, much more useful to site visitors...and almost impossible to find. I never do exchanges with pages that are just long lists of links any more, and my results haven't suffered at all since I stopped.
I find it quite funny that many webmasters thing reciprocal linking will significantly increase their PR. Unless a webmaster always gains higher PR links than what they return their PR will remain constant. Think about it, if you get a PR4 link and send out a similar PR4 link your site has not gained/lost any PR. If you can arrange PR5 links in return for your PR4s then you gain PR, same is true if your link pages have far more links from them than the sites linking to you. So if your PR4 link page has 200 links from it and your average linking partner has a PR4 page with 100 links from it- You send 1/200th of the PR4s link benefit to each partner You receive 1/100th of the PR4s link benefit from each partner Result you gain twice as much as you send out. That's the only ways to increase PR through reciprocal linking and even then unless your dealing with PR5 links with a small number of links from them or a heck of a lot of reciprocal links the PR benefits are minimal. The real benefit of the standard "PRX link for a similar PRX link" is the anchor text. By gaining links from many sources your telling Google that page is popular about whatever the anchor text of the incoming links are. With this in mind gaining links from related sites is the way to go and realise it's highly unlikely to increase PR. I've wrote a little about recip links at http://www.seo-consultant-services.co.uk/text-links-via-reciprocal-linking.html Personally I only do content to content linking since I find reciprocal links directories practically worthless.
