Just developed a new web site. Created a xml sitemap and submitted it to google. To my surprise, it was listed right away. Within a few hours, if I did a few generic searches, the web site would be listed in the search results. For a few days it was listed, and now today, even when I type in the domain name, it says it cannot be found. Any ideas what happened?
Two things may be happening. A new site takes time to propagate across all data centers and that can sometimes take several days. The second, though, less likely, reason is that Google deleted the website because it did not think it was worthwhile. Please continue to build the site and try to get links to it -- you will be fine.
Fresh site bonus? It's a product inventory web site dealing with military medals....can't say it's not worthwhile.
Would resending the sitemap to google basically give them reason to remove the site all together? I was working on a script that generated a new sitemap, and automatic submission. I wonder if because it was submitted over and over, they decided to remove the site? Just find it strange that over 100 links were showing up, and now not one....not even the domain itself.
This is something that happens with new sites you did not do anything wrong, you should continue to build backlinks and everything will be fine.
Exactly right... Just build back links i would like to suggest you to do forum posting as much as you can do, u will get 5 links, 1 in your profile and another four links in your sig, as forums are daily crwaled by google. yeah, that's right forum links does not have much more link value but to get listed it's very useful. Hopefully you will get your website soon in google.
