Need to modify what contributors see in WP 2.5

Hi,

How can I modify what contributors see in WP 2.5?

I want them to see the "write" and "profile" tabs only.

Within the "write" tab I want to remove the "advanced options" (excerpt, trackbacks, custom fields, comments and pings, password protect), and the "related" sidebar.

I am not sure if you can do that, but in the wordpress plugin directory, there is an custom admin menu which might just help ya out. So do take a look at that one.

But its homepage is in German. I'm not sure if it's suitable for wp 2.5, and I don't fully understand how it works.

I have tried several plugins but none does what I need.

Perhaps what I need can be achieved with another blogging platform ??

Thanks! I successfully modified the write panel, now only have to find a way to get rid of the "manage" and "comments" tab.

check out the Role Manager Plugin - it allows you change what each user role can and cannot do

I do use the "role manager" plugin. It works fine.

Contributors can't modify anything on the "manage" and "comments" tab, so there's no need for them seeing these tabs.

I haven't found a way to "hide" those tabs yet.
