u can download google toolbar or try www.dnscoop.com or www.smartpagerank.com or www.prchecker.info they will tell ur google page rank. PR 1 is not good atleast pr 4-5 consider as good
Not if you want spyware on your computer. You should never install the Google toolbar because it records every site or page you visit. Not that I'm worried about my browsing history being known but when I work on my websites, I have a development server and a production server. My dev server should *never* be indexed and I've blocked all search engine spiders in the robots.txt files for the sites on the dev box. However, when I went to show my friend some work I'd done on my dev server and he had Google toolbar installed, the next day my dev server pages were indexed and it caused a concern with me for duplicate content. On that point, also, never, never, never install the Alexa toolbar. It's far more intrusive than the Google toolbar. Searchstatus in Firefox is no better... read this from the makers of Searchstatus... I use the Pagerank Checker I coded from the original Magic Bean Dip script except mine checks Google toolbar queries as well as checking for fake PR from 301 redirects and forged headers. If anybody wants a copy of the script, I'll give you a copy for a few posts on one of my forums. PM me if interested.
thanks for your explanation, Bryce. I checked some of my sites' pagerank in your Pagerank Checker. Some results with 'Sorry, this site has a questionable Pagerank of ...' and others 'Congratulations, this site has a valid Pagerank of ...'. I have checked them all at checkpagerank.net, the results are all valid.. So what is the problem with my some websites' pagerank value, as checking with your script ?
Was it giving you the valid PR even with the warning ? Questionable status is when the first result in Google doesn't match the exact domain. If it said "invalid pagerank" that would indicate a redirect (such as if you had www.mysite.com and you redirected www.mysite.net into the .com site.) Please PM me because I'd be interested in running tests on the sites you might have got a "false positive" on so I can see if there's something I'm missing. If you're interested, and can code PHP, I can pass you a copy of the script for the help in tightening the results. Although the PHP script, I've sort of deprecated because I also have a PR checker that runs in javascript on the client's browers which won't invoke Google's wrath because the toolbar requests would be coming from the end user's IP.
You can check using www.checkpagerank.net, www.smartpagerank.com or www.wpranking.com Or you can even use Firefox add-on
Of what I have read recently: There are two page ranks: a nominal one and a real one. Nominal one is the one shown on that PR bar.. It gets updated every 3 months or so.. Where are real one gets updated constantly and it is the one that matters.. The real one is used inside the google algorithm.. Some interesting facts about Page Rank (source: [Daily Blog Tips by Daniel) Some other interesting facts about PageRank: * many people think that PageRank uses a logarithic scale, meaning that increasing your PR gets tougher as you go (i.e. moving from PR5 to PR6 is more difficult than moving from PR2 to PR3) * real PageRank is not counted from 0 to 10, this is just a scale used for the nominal one * PageRank is only one of the factors used in Google’s search algorithm, so a high PR does not equate to high search rankings automatically * Your internal and external links can affect your PageRank * Content and update frequency have no impact on PageRank
The page rank claim my site worth $600...Yahoo worth $3 trillion and change...wonder if they will give me a page of the domain.. DP worth $1,078, not much than mine....
i know everyone likes to get higher PR but please forget about it. It is not worth spending time to get higher PR because your traffic is more important. Try to spend time to get more traffic. I am saying that because I thought just like you, but after 3 years I finally found out that it is much more important to get traffic than PR.
there are so many ways to find your PR. you can ask google "Results 1 - 10 of about 130,000,000 for pagerank" this is the result.
Here is the newest: it is a complete site analysis including PageRank, Link popularity and domain analysis checker.
