Guys, I read a book that said its not worth being in content search unless you are in one of the top three spots. So i increased my bid and went through my budget and went from a 30 dollar lead cost to a 75 dollar lead cost. Is the book wrong should I bring my bids back down?
I would say if you have cold hard numbers telling you that you can get conversions for $45.00 cheaper doing it your way, do it your way. Bu then again, I'm a newbie, so what do I know.
Thats what I figured. Anyone here with experience, have any advice. Is it best to be in one of the top three positions for content?
If you want volume and prime time positioning then yes, top 3 will get the most exposure. If you just want surplus positioning and clicks then bid lower. Getting a $75 cost per conversion is still gold, why because that campaign only needs to be optimized at this point. In fact after optimization your $75 CPA will turn into a $45 CPA or even better.
Your probably right on the optimization. I worked more on my regular search than I did on content. I really did a good job on the search terms. I had someone else set up my campaigns. I did lower cost on the regular search by split testing my ads. Guess I should start working on the content ads now.
Robert, I have learned from reading like your blog, and books like perry marshall has out. Do you have any recommendations on where to read up on optimizing my content ?
