Can you get penalized for Paid One-way Links??

I recently saw an add for 500 One-way links for $35/mo.

I am just building my new website, and Im still skeptical on trading links with link partners.... and rather have One-way links coming towards me instead!

Can google penalize you for buying 1-way links? How would they know?

    Thanks!

If you ever want to get traffic form Google it is not a good idea, no it's a very bad idea... If you need links, as in free links we have created a comprehensive "Do Follow List" and their free. You can find the list at www.tucsonseosolutions.com/dofollowlistoflists. Just leave good comments on these blogs.

    Nopes!
Buying links is not that bad if you know what you're buying. In any case, natural links obtained from quality content are the best ;) :)

Although google doesn't like 'paid' links but if you buy the links carefully I don't think paid links can get you sandboxed. If you go to link sales forums you will see lot of "SEO experts" buying and/or selling links. Would love a word from a senior DP member in this regard.

I decided not to buy any links at all

I just started link-building, I might as just go for free one-way links!

I just read that submitting to many directories can penalize you..... is that true, even if I don't link back??

    Thanks!

Absolutely silly. Buying links do not mean Google would penalize you. There are lots of websites which get very good SERPs in Google after they bought links, even until today.

It doesn't make any sense to me.. if Google do penalize a website for buying one-way links, then I just could buy A LOT of one-way links to point to my-competitor's website, and hope that Google will penalize my competitors :D

What I understand is we could penalized if our website has too much outgoing links, points to many bad sites (Bad neighborhood). If you decide to buy one-way links, then do it naturally..."Grow" your links...

    Just my 2cents :D

Google does not know everything. Google is a caveman like system when it comes to detecting links....Why do you think they ask for people to report others???? BECAUSE THEY CANT DETECT THEM!!!

By all means, buy links, but do so carefully and slowly.

P.S. There is no such thing as a sandbox...I have created a recent site, for the term 'making money online' and am ranking high after 3 months! There is no sandbox....Just stupid people who try and get too many links too soon!

Just dont go reckless and leave tracks, like don't buy one thousand links overnight for a website that has not obtained more than 10 links in a year .. what is going to happen in this case:
1- A red flag will pop up some where in Google plex
2- In some cases Google robots will take action against that but most likely a Googler (human) will go manually and check those links + checking your website ... if those links are blatantly paid from unrelated websites in the footer and your website looks like a mickey mouse website with a poor content then expect yourself to be banned by Google not just penalized (when I say banned I mean site:yoursite.com will return no results)

So basically do not create a pattern and dont leave tracks, if you dont know how to play this game then stay away.

Buying links in and of itself is not banned, However, buying and selling links that pass link juice is. If you need to scoop on this go to Google's webmaster tools and get it directly from Google.
