A couple has been arrested in what Canadian police said on Tuesday was an apparent offer to sell a seven-day-old baby girl on Craigslist for C$10,000 ($10,100). A woman who saw the offer on the popular website alerted police who tracked down the 23-year-old mother and 26-year-old father using a cell phone number that was listed in the advertisement. Vancouver police said the couple told investigators the offer was a hoax, but were arrested for public mischief with other criminal charges possible as the investigation continues. "There are so many questions here," Constable Tim Fanning told reporters. Police said the advertisement described the baby as "very cute" and "unexpected" and that its parents, who could not afford to care for it, wanted to give it a good home. The child was put in the care of social workers.
Wow, so many articles of people putting babies on sites for sale... are they that stupid thinking they won't get in trouble? ughhhh
If it was just a joke they really screwed their lives up, let alone when the kid finds out the parents tried to sell him or her.
What is happening to people these days. I recently read a thread baby for sale on ebay and now this one. All this is really disgusting.
I can't believe how people have become that they would sell their own flesh and blood makes me sick!!!!!!
Im surprised they didnt try to give the baby away for free and charge a minimal "re-homing" fee like they do with trying to profit off of animal adoptions on CL
wow that's crazy. if they want a better home for the baby, why dont they ask someone that wanted a baby. i bet they just wanted some money...
I remember the body parts and also the best one... someone was selling (i think) their Mothers Ashes!! "Because she wanted to travel the world!" ... mad!
