I don't own a car which is a very good thing considering the cost of gasoline nowadays. As much as possible, I don't waste water and electricity. I don't throw my thrash anywhere.
Making environmentally sound choices is the path toward a green future. Obviously, at this point, we can only make a little difference. I don't see that as a reason not to try. We do everything we can, including a strict vegan diet, a bus which runs on biodiesel (made from recycled vegetable oil, biofuels are hardly "doomed"), and a host which uses green offset credits. Solar panels are in our immediate future, as we are currently shopping for the best lead-free panels. All of these choices help support alternatives which have the potential to replace the wasteful, polluting methods in place now.
I won't do anything green unless it saves me money. I'm considering buying a Hybrid car eventually so that might help out.
I use over 3000 gallons of gas a year.......... and I'm a green blogger. asalavista- hopefully you don't use a lighter when you fire up, lighters are not green.
Thats a great way to look at life. I think politicians should start using your method to solve lifes problems.
Half & Half, why not though if you think about it. Some of them need to pop a few chill pills, and we're discussing the best one.
Does smoking weed count as living Green? ok.. I m thinking of getting green sometime in future. But its hard and I am keep trying.
As long as the US doesn't sign the Kyoto act, I'm little concerned about my share of energy consumption and pollution...
The best thing I can say is, subscribe to the blog feed above. I have a post on the subject ready to go in the next few days, and the blog will be covering the topic extensively. Not only does our host use offset credits, we've signed up with two programs and will be updating our readers on such choices regularly. @FHI...any chance of a LE? I like your home improvement site. See my site above. Brand new, so no PR. But big plans. @cannabis enthusiasts...hemp is an exciting environmental alternative to many products, from cotton to wood, so support the plant in all its forms. Nothing wrong with enjoying a plant...do you want a planet it can be grown on? Get active.
Amanamission, Nice solar site! I just launched a new site the other day that uses green hosting and I have another one planned that will also use green hosting. I'll send you a PM with the site, you can use it to promote your site.
I have a dishwasher that I don't use, but I know alot of people do. I believe I'm saving energy and keeping my electric bill a little lower also. A tip for those who do: Run your dishwasher only when it's full. This can save more energy than washing dishes by hand several times a day.
yes! i'm really into up-cycling. which is recycling items and turning them into better uses. right now i've been recycling cereal box's into bookmarks.
That's great! If more people thought that way, we might not have such a disposable society. Recycling vegetable oil for fuel is my favorite example. We're about to spend several hundred dollars on that product right now.
