I have a free product that I want to promote. My budget is $100. What can I get for this money? What would be the best strategy to get traffic to the product page? Any suggestions?

Ok, determine which keywords are getting you the traffic you are looking for. Then launch a seo (do it yourself) campaign within the organic listing. Then further filter your list of quality keywords and invest your $100 in adwords or YSM. You want to pay to get quality leads right? You must know where the leads are coming from first.
Link building, I'm also looking for build it. Anyway it's not this easy, got many hours lost and now I think my status is ok.
If your daily budget $ 100 , you will get better response for promotions, If your weekly budget $ 100 , you need to wait for couple of months to get your products better web promotions. If your monthly budget $ 100 , you are wasting your time to think about for promoting your products.
offer 4 or 5 $ to some bloggers to make review about your product with 150 to 250 word and static link. second do some social media marketing. It an give you some initial exposure as traffic point of view and if you will choose that site who have Do follow attribute then you will get good back linking too. Its up to you how you invest your 100$ so get good ROI. 100$ not big amount but not as small too.
Hmm... membership in some places, information products? Put it in education, and you'll learn to make more $$$ without spending bucks
