    Hi, I'm looking for some free niche directories, the niche is UK Travel/ Vacation Rentals.

    Directory submission seems so tedius and time consuming, it's hard to imagine that it actually can bring you PR when like 98% of all pages that you get put on show up grey in the google toolbar, like whats that all about. Yes, the main domain often times has PR4 and higher as well, but still those category pages they put you on are grey in the toolbar.

    With directory submissions you can get your homepage PR increased (because very few directories allow deep link submission).

    What I have see is that I got good PR for my website's homepage, my homepage was coming in first ten for main keywords and then rest of the link building happened naturally. People found good content and gave backlinks from their blogs and websites. Of course I started doing some social bookmarking and now many internal pages in my site have PR2+.

    If you find directory submission tedious, outsource it to someone else :)
