Hello I would like to submit my websites to some pages with a valid PR >1 I found many directories(free and paid) that have good PRs but only on home page (pr, 5,6,7). Why this??????? Its not fair. I would like someone to help me with a list of SEO directories that also have a valid PR in categories or subcategories (no matter if the directory is paid or free...i"m looking for quality first). Just want to submit my website only on the pages that are seo friendly and with a normal PR distribution. If I need to pay for this list...just let me know. Thanks.
MyArtGallery, for some reason google had started stripping out pr on internal pages, but im none the wiser why.
Really???That's bad So how to choose directories? Only by alexa ranking? I would like to invest 1000 USD in posting my website on directories. ...but I do not know where. Any list? I do not want to pay in vain.
I agree, i wouldn't buy on alexa rank either, ive seen directory owners purchasing trashy traffic just to boost the alexa and let you think their directory is busy. I have affordable listings in my 4 dirs, but i noticed you dont want spamming of individual dirs in the thread, which is fair enough. Regarding a large list, well i would advise checking out each dir properly to see that your spending your money cautiously. If you want a paid list you can look at http://www.directorycritic.com/paid-directory-list.html 17 pages worth of general paid dirs.
I am not advertising my directory. You ask for something that my directory have and i recomend it to you. What make you think that such a list exist? anyway if everyone who have a directory with your requirements post his directory here then the list will be completed and found here for anyone else looking for this requirements!
Don't consider PR as the main factor. Instead focus more on traffic you can expect from the directory.
and that is insignificant...no matter how strong is the directory. the traffic from a web directory could be quite impressive...but the traffic flow to the included websites is so small in most of the cases... But of course...you get a good relevant backlink to higher your rankings...maybe some traffic as well..anyway...it is a +
Becuase it stops people buying and selling links from empty directories with no or little unique content.
Most directories with PR on inner pages require paid reviews. Therefore, you may want to check out http://www.paiddirectorylist.com Start with the high PR directories and work your way down. Even if such a list exists that documents inner PR, that would not mean PR is in your category of choice.
An interesting question with the typical replies. One thing some here that has been left out is that some, perhaps even many, of the directories with PR only on the homepage are new directories that have been installed on an old domain. People do this to trick unsuspecting website owners to purchase links knowing that the PR will most likely drop or even disappear after the first update. Be wary of any site that only has PR on the homepage. Even with a low homepage PR, if the site is internally linked well, at least some of the interior pages should have some ranking of their own. Paid or free has little impact on whether or not a directory has earned PR on interior pages - that's about editorial abilities, website promotion, and internal linking strategy - and those skills are not limited to paid directory owners.
Not the case with mine, not the case with many. Theres no one answer to any questions regarding directories, its just not that simple. Seems a new theory pops up every week, everyones an expert.
ok, Thanks to all who posted here. Now I understad. I have a list of seo friendly ldirectories and now I need to check who has a valid PR in directories ...who plays fair My website is art related. So if you have a good directory with a valid PR in categories (especially art category),please inform me here and I'll submit my link (no matter if the directory is free or paid)...I just want fair play ..not directories that do not allow a fair PR distribution trying to keep their home page PR on a high level. So, please inform me about your seo and PR directories. Thanks
We are no longer in control of PR distribution, google takes care of that if you mean the use of no follow and all that, i dont think it makes a difference, as pr cant be passed on if its not there in the first place. Just so that you do understand, its out of our hands, pr i mean, and if you try and buy pr you will get whacked too.
I'm not trying to buy PR. I'll never buy PR. Just want to make sure the directory PR distribution is correct. Why are you saying that? I saw many directories with good PR in categories. eg: ezilon.com, familyfriendlysites.com, greenstalk.com and many others....so I do not think that your theory about new google pr in categories is 100% proven.
Neither am i trying to buy PR, neither are lots of other people, but if you ask a question and include pr in the question as important then thats how google looks at it. I would concern myself with the page actually being indexed where my listing will be located, although thats no assurance that it will stay indexed. What do you mean by pr distribution?
pr distribution? Its not 100% a true rule but if a page have a pr 4 then a link from that page should have a pr 3. This is a correct pr distribution. Especially when a directory home page has a pr 6!!!!! It's not normal when a directory home page with a pr 6 to have NO pr in categories. Either the directory webmaster "take care" of this or Google penalized those pages with external links on it giving them a No PR value. If google makes this....I must say he is genious!!! in this whay no one will be interested in link exchange or buying prs....because pages with external links get a pr0 !!! what a simple strategy from google!!!!!..viva natural links
Dropped domains are being used for directories, but I don't recall seeing any trying to trick submitters into paid listings because of PR. I'm sure it happens, because there are tens of thousands of directories out there. But if people are purcahsing PR at directories, then they should exercise a little common sense. Let's look at this recently launched directory (instantadsenseempire(dot)org). It is a PR 4. Even though there is no Wayback history for this domain, it's thumbnail preview at Alexa is from a Godaddy parked page. Even though the domain has PR, the directory owner is not promoting PR and/or attempting to use it as a selling point. I have no issues with this... Common sense goes a long way in most aspects of life, and link building is no different. If the domain looks like it may apply to another niche, it may be a dropped domain. Then it's the submitters responsibility to verify whether or not its a dropped domain, assuming that the submitter cares in the first place. That's not accurate. If the top level domain has a PR 4 and links to dozens of sub categories, then those categories may have little if any PR.
