I prefer dreamweaver vs frontpage... but the replacement for frontpage is nice. I think it is called microsoft express web or something to that effect.

I just looked at what other are saying about this and it seems to come down to:

    Beginners- Front page ($149)
    Intermediate to advanced ($299)- DW

    hmm...

Dreamweaver, especially CS3 , which is excellent in creating and maintaining CSS-based web layouts, many of which are provided in one, two, or three-column layouts.

Yeah I agree the layouts in dreamweaver are really great and I think that frontpage is a little lacking in features.

Frontpage is a great place to start off with, once you get used to it try to challenge yourself and start off with Dreamweaver. Its much better with most internet browsers today!

    Good luck!

Well I think it is better to start with DW. Why learn a BS wysiwyg program? Waste of time!

It will also help a lot to have entry level html knowledge with either one.

Frontpage is faster to use and easier, however you need FrontPage extensions and that's a real pain in the ass to FTP...

lol. text editors are good for inserting tags if you know what the tags do.
