Just going to have to deal with it, sorry. We are reducing the MASSIVE amount of useless posts. Once they are all gone and not made anymore then threads wont be pushed to the 2nd, 3rd, page so fast.

Also take jhmattern advice. They can still leave responses in the thread but just not "PM me" "Thanks" ect.

Also add a link in your signature to your thread.

lol :D that explains why no one has been commenting in the thread, to be honest, i never checked it before writing this, i was merly clarifing the situation so i didn't receive an avoidable infraction.

As for the link, it does link to the blogs, however, there are several pages of them. A link ("next" - "back") at the bottom of the page will direct users to previous blogs - although it could be more promiment. Thanks for the advice.

Alot of people who read threads expecially on re-occuring services such as this like to see that someone has been paid and/or the service has been completed by people without complication. Although the iTrader system is there to help people, in my situation with the thread being moved to the "freebie" section i do not have the use of that facility, and therefore potential customers cannot self review the service prior to participating.

So asking users to review the service (albeit not every user) is acceptable providing its not a simple meaningless one liner.

I totally understand, and whilst im not complaining i feel quite a few people could be in my position (offering a re-occuring service) but dont want to risk getting an infraction.

Thanks for clearing all that up.

Sounds like you've got it. :) Reviews are fine as feedback, but things that are too short or generic would likely be removed and given an infraction ("thanks" types of posts, "deal completed," etc.). :)

I like the new rules. I think they, should, help to clean up a lot of the spam posts. I do still however think that people running auction type sales threads should be allowed 1 bump a day like most other forums allow. Only because your threads get buried so quickly and most people dont' look past the 3rd page deep. But that is another debate for another day.

Or if we could close the thread ourselves, click that the thread has been resolved. Vbulletin does offer this function from the thread tools button, I dont know why DP chooses to not use the feature.

There's no reason for them to get special treatment. They're naturally bumped when people make a bid. If you want extra attention for it, like with everyone else, put a link in your sig to the auction thread. More competition doesn't mean rules should be bent.

And letting people close the threads themselves would lead to people closing them for the wrong reasons - like as soon as someone complains about them, their service, etc. Not a good idea, especially in a marketplace of this size.

Thanks for your reply jhmattern, you seem like a pretty cool lady mod.. It's crazy how much you look like this girl I used to work with, your name isn't Latanya by chance.. LOL

Some auctions may not recieve bids because the right people havn't seen it, because it is burried. I'm not asking for rules to be bent, just for new rules.. Mainly in the domain names section of the BST area. LOL Something that I know won't happen, sorry I brought it up.. :p

I didn't think about that, pretty good point, but then isn't that what Itrader is for, complaints about the deal/service? And why are all of your old sales threads closed, shouldn't they be left open like everyone elses, for positive/negative feedback or whatever? Just curious.

I close my old sales thread when I start a new one - which is what you're supposed to do. ;) So for example, today I posted a sales thread for my press release service, because I didn't have a thread up at all detailing it at its current regular rate. That thread won't get closed - it's just up so I can link to it from my sig in the long haul. If I left all of my old sales threads open, I'd still get people searching and hounding me for old rates (not long ago I had someone dredge up a sales thread from like 2006 or something). When you want to re-advertise your services (b/c you're launching a different sale or offer for example) you should request to have your previous one closed. So if I had offered a Memorial Day weekend sale this past weekend for $50 off the service, I would need to have that closed before deciding to run a $50 off sale for another limited occasion (like Christmas or whatever).

I'd like to think that most people are able to search if they want the old feedback, and since the current thread is the only current offer, that's the only thread current clients should be leaving feedback on anyway - them buying a service now and leaving their feedback on a thread from a year ago doesn't help anyone. ;)

And no... name's just Jenn. lol

Thanks Jenn, I didn't know that we should send close thread requests to the mods. That's helpful to know. But then, could you imagine if everyone, who should do so, did send close thread requests to the mods. That would be a lot of thread closing going on. LOL There's got to be a better way, but until then I suppose this will work :)
