I was on PhoenixGasPrices.Com and I was thinking of making a site similar to this, but better lookign and easier to use, but use the graphs and maps from their website, they let you copy the html code to use it, but it does not say anything about putting them on a site with Ads (such as adsense). So is this legal?
I took a quick look and didn't see anything about adding graphs and maps to your website. They have a high low banner/button that you can add, but it looks like you need permission to add anything else. I would contact them, but would guess they would have a fee to add it to a commercial site - if they would allow it at all.
http://phoenixgasprices.com/link_page.aspx http://phoenixgasprices.com/mediafeed.aspx It looks like you can but be sure to add enough original content to get search engine traffic and relevant targeted ads. The html code hotlinks from their site. If you just have their code and Adsense you will not rank in Google or get relevant Adsense.
You have to be an approved site to get the media feed. If the TOS they supply you with doesn't state you can't use it on a commercial site, then there is nothing wrong with doing it. It looks like the feeds are intended for news sites and I'm not sure why they would want to let the direct competition use their work - but there is no harm in trying.
I would personally play it safe and try to contact them to make sure. You don't want to get involved in any legality issues over something silly.
